Dress Dilema Advice

Jade the Bride, 2 August, 2015 at 10:21 Posted on Planning 0 10

I have now narrowed by dress search down to 2 gowns and I am so confused.

One gown we all loved and it made me tear up. It is EXACTLY what I wanted, lace with a hidden corset and button back and a pool train.

The second dress was a wild card which made my mum and friend cry as soon as they saw me in it. A stranger in the shop also said 'that dress was made for you', but I just don't see it! I like the dress and it gives me amazing shape but it isn't anything like what I wanted.

I feel like I need to try both dresses on again, but would you do this alone or with someone else? I know it's only me who can make the decision but I don't know wether to go for the dress that I love and everyone else likes or the dress that makes people cry and I think looks good but doesn't blow me away.

Any advice welcomed, I am stuck!

You need to feel like your dress is 'you'. It sounds like you've already found the right one, but go back, maybe take another friend who will be honest or objective, or go alone if you feel that'll help you make a decision. It's possible that because you had such a strong idea of what you wanted and you found that, that you'll never see it with the other one. However, maybe if you try and be open minded you'll see it differently. Either way it sounds like you're on to a winner!

I personally think there's no need for you to try on the dress that you just "don't see it". Just because other people got emotional and loved it, if you didn't feel anything then it's not for you. That's my opinion!

Which one would you most be upset about if you went back and they said it was no longer available?

Honestly I'm not sure! I feel positive about both dresses but for different reasons. The one I love because how I felt and it's exactly what I want and the one everyone else loved becausemit did give me a great shape and is a beautiful dress, plus everyone else's reaction. I want everyone to think wow which is what pulls me towards that dress.

    Here are the dresses:

the one everyone cried over: http://www.ronaldjoyce.com/en/collections/victoria-jane/17857#.Vb39fhikqK1

I think they are both really beautiful dresses so you're on to a winner whichever you choose.

I really think you have to go with what you love though, if you don't you'll end up with never ending dress wobbles (like me!).

I personally prefer number 1, but I had a maggie too and the lace/train of that one is gorgeous.

Is there a large price difference that would sway you either way?

They are both stunning but number one is my favourite.

Pick whichever one gives you butterflies. I'm sure you'd look fab in either. ?

I love the maggie dress. Is there any details of the second dress you love that could be incorporated into the first, which would also make it unique. I'm planning to customise my dress and then it's a one of kind if u like xxx

Thank you for the advice everyone. I went to retry on the dress I loved today and it confirmed it was the one Smiley smile

You were all right, it's about what I feel best in and I feel amazing in it!
