Is the corset bit at the top see through?

Honestly, it's not to my taste BUT I think the shape really flatters you and it reminds me of Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the colour probably!). Good on you for going for something you want.

    thank you fancyfress,

i tried on so many coloured dresses in the shop (its not a bridal shop) i didn't even want to try it on as i had tried it on in red and didn't really like but my mum kept saying just try it so i did. i didn't want white as we have been together for 7 years now and have a 6 year old son and it just didn't feel right to me when i tried on "wedding dresses"

If i'm really honest (please don't hate me).. i think the colour washes you out a bit. The shape is nice on you, but i would wear a hoop with it to give it a better shape. I wouldn't worry about not wanting a wedding dress as you've been together a while and have a child, many hitchers are the same. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Try on lots of styles and colours. Get the shop assistant to pick out a few dresses they think will suit you. Don't be worried about telling then your budget and they'll stick to it and find you something.

Ah right, I think it would look nicer with the lining in there, and if you get a hoop i think the shape and dress would look really good on you, although I am in agreement about the colour, it is a little pale for your skin colour.

Nice dress but not keen on the colour. As a fellow blondey with pale skin - yellow just isn't my colour.

I'm sure one you're smiling and have your hair done you'll look and feel like a million dollars! ?

I keep coming back to this as im really not sure what to make of the dress but (although i wouldnt wear it) i do like it and i do also think it would look better with a multi layer or hooped underskirt, and with your hair make up the whole lot on the day i think you will look fab!!!! x

Don't hate me but i'm not sure about the colour on you. It does have a Belle from beauty and beast look to it but I think you might be better with a stronger colour to complement your skin tone.

If you want a coloured dress, how bout a white/ivory with colours in it ? There are plenty available and I think a few are doing the rounds at the moment. ?

I'm with some of the other girls actually - I'm not sure that the colour is right for you but maybe its just the lighting in the pic???? Shape is nice though and suits you

Know whats 'funny?' the amount of people here who can be so brutally honest on YOUR thread but any other brides thread they go ooooooh and ahhhhh and prolly not brave enough to say what they think......

is this because this particular girl said 'Please be honest.....?' if the other brides said the same would you be so honest? Sorry I digress...

Your dress can be any colour you like, any design you like, made of any fabric..... if you like it then why do others opinions matter?

yellow/gold...whatever, so what.....as long as you like it and are comfortable with it....

the shop lighting is crap, its not the best of pics but it is a nice dress.....and I dont see any problem with the colouring at all.

Thank you all for your comments.

i have tried on wedding dresses with colour but just didn't like them and like was said they are doing the rounds at the mo i wanted something that was different. it has got lots of under skirts on already. and no where does it say a bride must wear white/ivory for her dress we are in 2009 now if you wanted you could wear a pea green dress if you want.

WHY ARE BRIDES SCARED TO WEAR COLOUR???

Terianna- nobody is saying you shouldn't wear colour. We've had a few brides on here wearing colour and they've had fab responses.

People are simply questioning whether that particular colour suits your skin tone! But. as other have said, it could easily be the crappy shop lighting.

Terianna you have gone for a dress you like, a dress you feel comfortable in and thats all that matters, i have given my honest opinion on it but wanted to put it tactfully which i believe i did thats just the way iam someone asks for an opinion and i will give it in the best way i can, the bottom line is i do like your dress its just not my taste, i actually very nearly bought a dress with lots of coloured embroidery on it but at the last minute i tried on one my mum had taken off the rail and it was THE ONE! very princessy and no colour, now i know there are alot of people out there who dont like the princessy look i was one of them until i tried my dress on, and the reaction from the other peo[le in the shop comfirmed for me that i had found my dress.

Teehee i have read lots of your posts and you give an amazingly frank and honest opinion in a very 'to the point' way a fab quality to have, we have all also given our honest opinions we just do it in different ways x

    Thank you laineyhu,

i wasn't having ago at any of you for what you said as i did ask for your coments. i just think that in this day and age bridal shops would have more coloured dresses when i went in to them and asked for something with colour i got red or pink tho one shop did have a black wedding dress but i dont do pink and to me the red and white theam has been done by so many now its not diffrent any more. we have only got a small budget for our wedding but i still want it to be diffrent from everyone eles as there is only one of me and one of my H2B so i dont want to look like any other bride out there.

Like laineywhu said if you're happy then it shouldn't matter. I went to a wedding last year and the bride wore a purple (think cadbury's diary milk) dress and it was one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen. Her Bms wore Ivory (i think) and the contrast was fab. I admire the fact that you want to be a bit different.
