Dress Help!!

GiraffeBride, 17 August, 2016 at 14:46 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hello everyone

I was hoping I could ask for your help. A friend of mine went trying on dresses the other day and found one she absolutely fell in love with. However it is £2200 and she doesn't really have that much to spend on her dress, so she was planning to look in sales etc and would have it second hand if she could find it. However she doesn't know the name of the dress, and as it turns out, possibly doesn't even know the designer. The dress was in the Pronovias section but neither of us can find it on their website. The shop also stocks San Patrick, Ronald Joyce, Alfred Angelo, Mori Lee and Allure so it's possible it's one of those. I have attached a photo below but it isn't a great one (and also why is it sideways?!), the dress comes in white, cream or ivory, has full sleeves and a ballgown skirt with a long train and lace detailing.

I know it is a long shot but I thought one of you lovely ladies might recognise the dress and come to the rescue?! The dress shop is quite far from where we live (it was by chance that she went in) and she also is reluctant to go back as she doesn't want to let them know she just wants to get the name to find it cheaper elsewhere!!

Thanks so much in advance

GB xx

She could try emailing the pic to the shop. Say she tried it on and loved it and would like to find a pic of it online on a model to show mum what it looks like on. If you only know which designer it would help. The shop is a long way from her so she has nothing to lose really.

That said I bet someone on here has tried it on and knows it.

Wow Claire that is incredibly similar, if not the same dress, thank you!! I don't know how we missed that! (Is there such a thing as wedding dress blindness - we've looked at so many!)

Jayne, emailing the shop is a great idea, it's perfectly feasible that she would want to show people the model photo as they wouldn't let her take photos of herself!

I knew that Hitched would be the place to go to solve this dilemma! Smiley smile

If you can find the dress it's always worth asking if you could buy the sample. I bought my 1350 dress for 400 and a lot of others on here did too. Assuming it remotely fits.
