Dress help please!

rrr, 26 July, 2008 at 20:35 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

Now that I know how to post photos!

I have bought this dress to wear to a friends wedding in two weeks. I love the dress, all is good on that front. However, I don't know what shoes, jewellery or wrap to wear with it.

I've taken a close up shot of the pattern. I already own a pair of gold shoes and a gold bag, but I'm not sure if this is all 'too' gold. But I'm struggling to find dark brown shoes (the brown is almost black), so I bought these ones today but I think they look a bit too officey for a wedding. Does anyone have any advice on shoes?

I also bought a pink cropped cardy to wear over the dress if I get cold, but not sure if that is too casual for this dress, maybe a wrap would be better?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Please? I really want to look lovely, and I'm not sure what to wear apart from the dress! I know that the ladies of hitched will be able to give me some advice!

Not sure about the gold ones as it is difficult to tell how well they match. I'm afraid that I do think the brown ones are too office-y. How about pink shoes? New Look has loads at the mo and they don't cost too much. They aren't showing on their website any more but they did have these in pink: http://www.newlook.co.uk/1452791/145279137/ProductDetails.aspx

I also have these in pink from New Look: http://www.newlook.co.uk/1479460/147946001/ProductDetails.aspx

    ASOS have these: http://www.asos.com/Women/Shoes/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=4172&Rf-200=9&sh=0&pge=1&pgesize=20&sort=-1&Rf-100=Heeled+Sandals

These are the shoes that you NEED (I've been eyeing them up myself 😄)

So it seems that pink shoes are the general consensus! Evil yoda, I like those shoes but do you think the black bits would clash with the dress? And everyone, if I wore pink shoes what colour handbag should I get?

How about one of the clutch bags (either black or pink) on the same link as EY's shoes. Pink should be fine with that dress - bring it out a bit!

I agree that pink shoes are the way forward but I think the ones EY suggests are too clumpy for the dress - you need something more delicate. I think a pink crop cardi would be fine but I'm not sure bag-wise. It's hard to tell what colour the neutral and dark bits are on the dress. Maybe a silvery/grey bag? I don't think brown or gold would work unless the colours on my screen are way off.

OK, I have bought some pink shoes but I don't think these are going to go either... They are the same as these, but in bright pink:

I think the flower might be a bit too much with the dress. But I've looked in loads of shops and can't find anything the right colour pink but nice and simple! Gah! Please help!
