Dress meltdown

FS84, 10 February, 2015 at 12:39 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hey ladies. So with just under 6 weeks to go I'm having dress wobbles. Please tell me this is totally normal and it'll be alright on the day! I had my fitting at the weekend and I just didn't have that 'feeling' about my dress anymore. I have lost almost a stone since I ordered it so it needs taking in etc. so I keep telling myself I'll feel better once the alterations are done. These are pics from when I tried it on a couple of months ago, The flower has been taken off and I'll be having some beading, crystals etc. around the waist.

Can't confirm or deny the 'dress wobbles' are the norm 6 weeks before your wedding. But j just wanted to say your dress is beautiful and it'll be even more so with the additional beading and stuff you've mentioned. It looks fab!! ?

Gorgeous dress! From what I gather, it's pretty normal to have dress wobbles around this time. I'm sure you'll feel differently once it's finished properly and you can really see what it looks like.

I've still got 18 months to go, and already have a choice of 3 I've picked up lol. Keep changing my mind about the colour! Still not convinced I've found the right one yet...

    The dress is lovely.

I, like you, had a wobble when my dress came in too, again it was too big and I personally thought it didn't flatter me, even though I too had lost a stone!

I have come to the conclusion it was because the showroom dress I tried on was 2 sizes too small, and although it didn't do up at the back properly it did pull and flatter where it was supposed to.

Once the alterations are done you will fill much better I am sure - I am hoping I will too!

I think it is normal to wobble a bit.

I looked at pics of my dress every blinkin day for 6 months, by the time we were counting down to the wedding i had swung completely from thinking it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever laid my eyes on, to thinking it was plain and boring and frumpy. Don't over think it - you fell in love with it for a reason, it will make you feel amazing on the day. You'll look back at pics after the wedding and wonder how you ever could have not loved that dress. And yes, with the alterations, it will feel a million times better.

Your dress is beautiful and it will be even more beautiful with the alterations you have mentioned.

From what I can gather it is totally normal to have dress wobbles. Since you have done amazingly well and lost all that weight, I bet the dress jsut didn't look quite right on. Once it's been altered to fit your fabulous new figure, you'll fall in love with it all over again.

OK this is weird, you are now the second bride in a few days who appears to have bought their dress at the same boutique as me!

It's stunning by the way, back view is particularly gorgeous!

Aaw bless you - I can absolutely confirm dress wobbles are very much the norm. I had my first fitting today sadly I haven't lost a stone in weight - wish I had lol. Got to get on the road to dropping a good few pounds now so I can feel happier in my dress. So you've done really well and I'm sure you will look stunning. It's a gorgeous dress. I think it looks amazing on you and will be stunning when all finished. x

Yep. I had dress panic rather than wobbles worrying that they wouldn't be able to alter the dress down enough. They did and it was fine. Any wobbles you have will be because it doesn't fit properly yet and so show off your new figure. Although even from the photos, you can see the back of the dress in particular is stunning!

Yeah, much nicer than other shops I went to! And glad to see someone else is having their fitting fairly close to the day! Mine is about 5 weeks before, getting nervous now though and really need to get to losing a few pounds!
