Dress opinions please with flash!!!

sarahh123, 5 February, 2011 at 21:31 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi All,

I tried both these on today, but just cant decide what I think of them. Im getting married abroad, so need to have something fairly light

Dress 1 is chiffon, probably more sensible for abroad, but dont know if I like the style enough, isnt very traditional looking

Dress 2 is satin, and a bit bulky, but I like the style

Please pick which you prefer, and wedding dress shopping is starting to drive me mad!

Thankyou!!!

Sarah xxx

Yeah, both gorgeous but for a beach I'd say No1 too.

I love both but you are right, the first would prob be easier abroad. Can you not keep looking for one in the style you like but material that is better??

Ive looked through so many designers websites, but cant seem to find anything in the style that light! Im so confused! I do love the second one, but can see that the first might be more appropriate for the weather! Cant decide whether to follow my heart or my brain!

I think they are both beautiful but neither really say beach wedding to me, tbh. If you're swithering between the two then I would maybe suggest you haven't found 'the one' yet. Don't rush into a decision if you're not sure - maybe take a break from dress shopping for a couple of weeks then come back to it with a fresh eye.

I think dress 1 is beautiful but I agree with kirstycat, if you don't love either of them then I think you should keep looking, even if dress shopping is starting to drive you mad! Do you have a bit of time before you absolutely have to order the dress? Could you maybe take a break for a month and then have another go?

1 is stunningly simple, 2 is abit fiddly with detail. Go for the first. Both very beautiful BTW

I love the first pic. Don't think that by going abroad you have to get straight and plain, I've seen loads of beautiful pics of brides in all styles of dresses.

I've just bought my wedding dress and I'm getting married abroad this September. I was going to go for the grecian goddess look (long, plain and slinky) they were all lovely but I didnt feel like a bride felt more like a bridesmaid or going to a lovely ball iykwim, so I went for an Aline strapless style in taffeta (as its light and travels well) by Maggie Suttero and I love it. I realised its only once (ok twice in my case!) that you get married so went on the slightly bigger dress than first thought I would.

This is the one I've bought

I think defo dress No 2. That my fav. Im having my wedding abroad and I havent opted for light becuase the one I saw just didnt feel right. The way I though was its my special day so ill wear the one i would have wore had it been in england.

They are both lovely but I would say number 1 for a foreign wedding.

I think number two be too warm as it clings more.

I like no 1. Where are you based? Im getting married in jamaica and i have a more tradional dress but it is a lighter one than most. I got mine from amelia classics in chippenham, wiltshire. I found that the beachy ones werent particulally flattering unless you were a size 8 as they dont have any boning so looked a little like a maternity dress on me! x
