Dress opinions - with *flash*

Gabbance, 14 March, 2011 at 12:59 Posted on Planning 0 32

Hi All!!

I am having a real dilemma with my dress. I have only been to a couple of shops so far and am off to another one at the end of the month. At first I was really sure of what I wanted (lacey, fitted with a big train) and tried on a beautiful San Patrick dress which I loved, however I also tried on another (Sottero and Midgley) which was the opposite kind of style (lacy corset bodice with a bigger train). Now I am really not sure which one I like best, so would really appreciate (honest) opinions of which one you think looks best…

San Patrick – Palma

(I would not wear the halter neck strap so ignore this!)

Sottero and Midgley – Margherita

('scuse the fat arms in both, and also, you may need to use a bit of imaginations as I am only 5' so obviously the length looks ridiculous!!!)

Thanks!!!

I think you must have posted the wrong pictures because I don't see any 'fat arms' in there.

Whilst the first is stunning, i think the train looks silly on it. Number two flatters your shape much more.

And you do NOT have fat arms!

Oooo tough one, I can see why you are struggling to choose! I think they both look lovely but I think I slightly prefer the second.

Number 2 is beautiful! I really love it! Am not keen on lace or fishtails though so perhaps am a bit biased.

I also do not see any fat arms Smiley smile

Aw, thank you all for the reassurance on the arms!!!

And thanks for all the opinions on the dress, I wasn't expecting so many ?

I think I am kind of swaying towards the second one... not the kind of thing I thought I would have at all. My issue now is that it's a sample dress and is about £900 cheaper than the first one!! I think I may try on some more and then if I still want it and if it's still there then I suppose it's meant to me!!!

    Thanks xxx

Definitely number one. It flatters your lovely figure and is so much more beautiful. Makes a nice change to the typical bodice and big skirt. Very elegant xx

Yes it did, its not too long at all. When I get home I will flash a pic of the train.

EDIT- Found a few more pics that might help:

I think I prefer the first one, it shows off your figure more so it's more flattering. Plus I'm not a fan of tulle skirts.

I like the first one if you were to keep the halter neck but you said you wouldn't have that so I think the second one.
