Dress question ....and newbie! Updated with Flash!

pinkglitter, 18 February, 2011 at 09:35 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hello :-)

This is my first post but i have been a hitched reader for a while now so i would be v grateful for your advice....!

Basically I spent aaages dress shopping, it started out being really exciting and ended in a panic where i thought i would never find one!! I bought one in a sale and then realised i didn't really like it (and my mum hated it) so am selling it on, and then ordered my 'actual' dress in Jan. but now am having wobbles about that!! but obv cannot turn into a crazy dress-buying person as will become a) bankrupt and b) probably unengaged!

The dress i went for is Ellis 11224, which i think was the best so far (second in line was Essense D922) but now am worrying about the flowers on the hip in case they end up looking massive and weird. They are detachable, so was wondering if any creative peeps had ideas about what i could put there instead....? Aghhh! Wish i wasn't so indecisive! think everything is getting a bit on top of me as only six months to go now and still got reasonable amount to do and need to stop thinking about The Dress!!!

thanks in advance :-)

UPDATE - thanks for the replies (and flash tips!) Here's the dress..........

Hiya. I googled your dress and it's very pretty! Don't have wobbles! I like the flowers on it - just think they make it look a bit different, which I think is good! I'd leave them on. But if you want to take them off, I don't think I'd put anything else there unless there's an obvious mark to cover up. If they'd been a bit higher, I wouldve suggested a diamonte brooch, but they're quite low so I'm not sure that'd look right. It's difficult to tell though without seeing it on you as dresses fit people differently -the flowers might be higher on you. Very pretty dress!

It's stunning! Don't take the flower off, it makes the dress a bit different. I bet we all have wobbles about our dresses- and it doesn't help when we keep posting our own beautiful dresses ?

Your dress is beautiful. I think you're maybe wobbling about the flower because the dress is too big for you so it's sitting a bit low. I think it looks great and when the dress fits properly will really look fab.

My dress also has flowers on the side. The shop sample really didn't do them justice - just think how many people have tried the sample on and it's been pulled in and out of the racks. I'd say wait until YOUR actual dress comes in and you may change your mind. I thought I'd want the flowers taken off (ordered them on a pin so this was possible) but they really look nothing like the sample did.

You're dress is lovely, don't worry!

I love the flowers on the dress, I actually want to replace the small sparkly bit on the side of my dress with scrunchy flowers, if they're detachable I wouldn't worry but I think these make the dress x

I love the dress, with the flower and it looks great on you.

We've made loads of dresses with flowers on one part or the other and I find that its actually very popular. One bride described it as a fun and flirty addition to her dress as she had a quite simple style and just a corsage on the bodice made a huge difference.
