Dress shopping for my mum - more stressful than buying my dress - FLASH!

Littlelaura82, 16 February, 2012 at 20:51 Posted on Planning 0 1

Evening ladies,

It is 8:30pm and I have just walked through the door. I met my mum on Oxford Street at 10am this morning and we have spent the whole day looking for MOB outfits.

As a bit of background, my sister got married in June 2011 (there is exactly 11 1/2 months between our weddings). My mum brought her perfect outfit for that wedding and looked stunning and so when OH and I announced we were getting married a minor internal panic occurred. So today I set aside the whole day to help her look. We must have gone in every shop on Regent Street, Bond Street and Oxford Street that sold dresses. We ended up arriving at our prebooked personal shopper appointment at House of Fraser at 2:30 and we spent 3 hours in there. We eventually left with a Dress and Jacket and some ideas on accessories. Picture below was taken on my phone and does not do my mum justice at all.

I wanted to share this with you as the stylist at HOF Oxford Street were Brill with my mum. Well worth an appointment I would say to anyone taking their mum shopping for their MOB outfit!

My mum has been worrying about this for months!

    Her outfit is this:

All £430 of it!! And it was second hand. And that's without a hat/fascinator and shoes etc. The gal is worse than me!
