Dress shopping with H2B Yes or No?

Bowski, 24 May, 2008 at 08:17 Posted on Planning 0 10

Last time I got married I went with my mum and it was a nightmare she wasn't excited and for most of the fittings I left feeling miserable.

This time I'm thinking about going with H2b, I don't really have any close friends close enough to go with, I don't want to take my Mum and I really don't want to fo on my own. Plus I only really give a crap what he thinks anyway and in all likley hood we'll be spending the night before together and getting ready for the wedding together so it won't be all that traditional anyway.

So what are your thoughts?

Dont see any problem with that. If you would feel more comfortable going with him then do it. I often think about showing H2b my dress as I dont what him to think "What DOES she look like?!" While I'm walking down the aisle! (he always gives me an honest opinion of what I'm wearing!!)

But I'm just an old fashioned girl I guess and I dont want him to see it!!

I think it's entirely up to you.

Personally i wouldn't want to go with h2b simply becuase he has never seen me in a dress and he is really looking forward to the surprise when i walk down the aisle.

But if you're happy with it then go for it!

I think if it's what you want then go for it - as long as he's happy with it too. I would love to show H2B my dress (mostly because I'm rubbish at keeping secrets) but he really doesn't want to see it until the day.

Just a thought - you might need to let dress shops know you are bringing a man with you as some of the smaller ones I went to had reasonably 'open' changing rooms and other brides might not be happy with a man there.

I can't see a problem with it if you really don't mind him seeing it. And in my opinion you'll look different again on your wedding day with all you hair and make up done.

    Yeah why not.

If you're not fussed about it being a suprise then go for it

Why not if that is what you what. Stuff tradition. I'd show my h2b my dress in a second but I do what it to be a surprise and he doesn't want to see it.

Go for it! My H2B would rather stick pins in his eyes than go shopping but if yours is happy to go I think its great!!

If you want to do it, do it! But you'll prob want to check with the dress shops when you make your appointment, in case they don't allow men in the dressing rooms.

i work in a bridal shop, loads of brides go shopping with their h2b. its up to you, if you want him to see the dress, go for it. personally, i think its nice to surprise him on the day. but if you want to take him along, why not!
