It will be a bit of a trek for you, but I bought my dress from Bride & Groom in Gravesend and was pleased with the service. I actually saw the dress online, on the designer's website, then tracked down stores in Kent that stocked it.

This is their web address: http://www.brideandgroomltd.co.uk/

It's the only one I went to, so I can't personally recommend any others. There is one in Canterbury that is supposed to be quite good. Do you know which designers you like? I found that having a look online was a good place to start and went from there.

I went to quite a few. Teokath in Canterbury was lovely, but they are more expensive dresses....I think most if not all over £1K

I got my dress from Bows Boutique in Ashford, they are so lovely in there and although it's not a massive shop they have a good of styles and prices starting much better than Teokath.

The other place I would recommend is Country Brides in Faversham, they had a massive selection almost all of which are under £1k, and they were very friendly and tried hard to put me at easy about standing around in my pants!

There is another in canterbury which looks nice but I didn't try on in there called Jodi's I think. Also one in herne bay with a good range, but the lady was a little grumpy (but nice enough)...Attractions Bridal Stdio.

    HTH! Good luck!

That's the one I'm thinking of. I've heard good things about it.

I saw Tantrums and Tiaras at a wedding fair and the woman was lovely - their shop is in Sittingbourne and they have reasonably priced dresses. Good luck!

I fell in love with a dress from there too! I drive past them every day (I work in Sittingbourne!) and they have some gorgeous dresses in the window xx

I can whole heartedly recommend Alta Costura (especially if you're on a tight budget!), Christina K and Yours Truly, which are all in Maidstone. I went to all of the bridal shops in Maidstone and these 3 were by far the best in my opinion. Such friendly, brilliant service in all of them Smiley smile

It's a bit far for you but if you are willing to travel I can recommend The Bridal Chest in Eltham (South East London). The lady who owns the shop, Adile, is amazing and honestly gave the best experience. They don't stock the more well known designers but have a fantastic range and really know what suits people.

I got mine from Dressed to Wed in Chatham. They've been really helpful so far and even went the extra mile to contact the designer of my dress and get the dress I wanted to try on loan from them, so that I wouldn't have to wait for a sample to come in.

OK my favourites were Pumpkins and Dragonflies in Folkestone, Country Brides of Faversham (+ Dover and Sandwich) and for being in a beautiful (though hard to find location) Tiara and Tails in Mersham Lehatch Business Villa (near Ashford). Think there are 2 in Canterbury - Teokath - looked scarily expensive and another one which wasn't over impressed with. Oh and avoid the one in Herne Bay - nice spacious shop but the women were horrible and very very pushy

My dress came from Pumpkins and Dragonflies in Folkestone, A fairly small shop but a lot of dresses, very helpful owner and staff, couldn't have done more to help. They even have their own recommened Seamstress for any alterations needed! Good Luck
