Dress - which do you prefer?

vicster, 24 July, 2011 at 10:32 Posted on Planning 0 29

So I think I've decided on the dress but could use your advice!! Which do you prefer? I think the first is more me - the second is beautiful and quite princessy but I don't think that's me.

I think both are nice. As I don't know you I can't say which is more you. I think you need to trust your instincts.

I think you look great in both but I do think that number 1 is my fave - I love the detail around the sleeves, just gives it an edge

Both dresses are absolutely beautiful but I think you look more comfortable in dress 1.

I like number one - the boat neckline (I'm not sure if this is the right word, but it came into my head and I think I've read enough Grazia to back myself on this one...!) is really unusual and very chic, I think.

You do look lovely in them both, but I much prefer number one.

I far prefer the shape of #1 (bateau neckline, 10 points to Gurzle), refreshing change to the strapless bodices that dominate the dress market. The detail at the shoulder is also lovely. However, I can't help feeling that the rest of the dress is a little plain - it could be improved by echoing that shoulder detail at the waist, maybe? Or just something to pep it up. The shape and style is elegant and classic, just runs the risk of being a little TOO understated for your special day.

I much prefer the second one, the first one looks too fussy at the top IMO

I love the first one on you, love the ruching and love the neckline. Nice change to see something other than a strapless dress (I'm one of those in a strapless dress but getting married abroad so less fabric the better!) x

Number 1 for me, that neckline is gorgeous and the colour (might be the light, but it looks like a darker ivory to me??) really suits you. I'm not keen on the straight neckline and the divison between the bodice and the skirt on number 2.

I prefer dress 1. I also think you look more at ease in it. I disagree with FTLOMB though and think that the detail is in the fabric throughout the dress. It looks very elegant the way it is and I wouldnt add anything to it.

Both dresses are lovely but I prefer no 1. I think it is quite unusual and you really suit it.

I've looked at them again and still love dress no. 1, it really suits you. How about adding the same flowers on the top right to say the left of your hip using the material from the hemming? I'm doing that with my dress and having a flower made for my hair, want to make my dress a bit unique and didn't want to waste my fabric! x

I prefer number 2 personally, but thats because its more "my style" of dress... You need to go with your instincts though. Its not about what other people prefer hun, its about how comfortable you feel in it. Both dresses are lovely, and you look lovely in both of them so it has to be which one feels right to you... If you are more comfortable in dress 1 then it needs to be dress 1... as I said, both are gorgeous dresses xx

I prefer dress number 1. I think though you need to feel like 'yourself' on the day and your comfort and feeling good is by far the most important.

You look great in both but I personally prefer number one but that's only because I don't like strapless dresses and the detailing in the neckline and sleeves is gorgeous in number one.

They're both beautiful, in all honesty. I'd probably pick no.2 for myself but it sounds like you like no.1 more. Both of them suit you so pick whichever you feel best in Smiley smile

Your stance is more relaxed in the first one, plus its a little bit unusual. If its more you, then go for dress one! I would Smiley smile

    Thats great vicster!

I think you made the right choice. The number 1 dress really suits your figure and really flatters you too.
