Dress wobble! Opinions please!!!

ChannyPink, 3 June, 2013 at 20:38 Posted on Planning 0 9

Ok so bought a dress on impulse because the price was low and because my step-mum loved it, It was from a private sellar and although I fell in love with the top of the dress and it fitted me perfeclty was not along enough mirror to see the whole dress, Took photos and bought the dress then when got home was upset with photos and think all the net at the bottom of the dress looks messy, I don't know what it is but just doesnt look right to me, Dress is suppose to be a copy of Maggie sottero Nora, i now think i have made a mistake in my impulse buy!

If I'm totally honest I don't think the dress is bad at all but i don't think it really has that wow factor on you either. That said, the angle of the picture is taken from below so could be that. Is that without a hoop?

I get what you mean about the bottom not looking quite right though. My advice would be if your heart isn't in it then sell it on and start looking again. Just don't dwell on the fact it's not the right dress and have fun finding 'the one'.

I had this harsh reality too, that I wasn't going to be floating down the aisle in a £1500 dress and I really did need to look at the price tags when I was shopping, but you can still have a dress you love on a tight budget. Like you say, the top of the dress is lovely and from the pictures appears to fit you well. I think it might benefit from having a belt around it to give your waist some more definition and then adding an underskirt to puff out the bottom would finish it off lovely.

I think the shape suits you. You have a really good figure. No, it doesn't look like the dress it is supposedly copying but I actually prefer that - means it's its own dress.

Personally, I'd buy a hoop or an underskirt and try it on with that. Then, you could maybe see a seamstress and get a quote for finishing the bottom hem off if it still doesn't look quite right.

Ooh yes, a champagne coloured sash or similar could look really nice!

It's a pretty dress, it just needs a bit of oomph under it as other people have said.
