Dress Wobbles

Random Name, 1 June, 2011 at 19:09 Posted on Planning 0 14

Work is so quiet I think it's given me too much time to think!

Am now having wobbles about my dress. I was thinking about shortening it but am now considering selling it and buying a tea length dress instead.

Don't know if this would just be easier than having to find a good seamstress to shorten. Plus I'd be so worried encase they messed it up

LMR I think your dress is beautiful! Personally, I wouldnt shorten it, I think your wedding day is the only time you get to where a long dress/train etc. It would still be lovely tea length, but you can wear a tea length dress on a number of occasions. Your flash of your dress is giving me dress wobbles now?

Thank ladies. Feel so confused. I want to cry (think I may be a tad emotional too maybe time of the month on horizon)

I got the dress at bargain price so even if I loss some money on selling it on, it still wouldnt be too bad.

I dont want to talk to my Mum and Sis about it as they will probably just think I'm being silly and indecisive. They dont get the whole wobbles thing. They willl say the "I knew you bought a dress too early"

It's a tough one, LMR. You know I'm a bit of a shoe fiend but it has to be about what you'll feel best in. I do love a short wedding dress but I wouldn't have felt bridal enough in one. Have you tried on shorter ones too?

The style of your dress looks as if it could be shortened but I'm firmly on the seamstress subs bench with Naboo so can't offer any advice, sorry.

Are you kidding me LMR?! Your dress is blimmin' gorgeous! And looks amazing on you!

Try on some shorter styles before you do anything drastic to yours... or even better, pin it up somehow so you can see what it looks like shorter. Personally though I think it's beautiful as it is and if I was going to do anything to it, I'd add a longer train!

CB- I tried one on but it was an odd length. Like it should have been either shorter or longer?! I did swirl round in a cicle saying... "oh you'd be able to see my sexy shoes" I'm thinking of ankle length dress. That's the thing, I do want to feel bridal but at the same time I want to feel like me. Me is def a shoe fiend

FMJ- In regards to the train, I'm not a huge fan of long trains. That style dress doesnt come with a train but the lady I bought it from asked the bridal shop to make it with a train when she ordered it.

Thanks for the responses ladies. In such an indecisive mood this evening.

Will try to stop thinking about it for a while.
