Dress Wobbles (Flash)

owlalice, 22 April, 2014 at 18:55 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hello everyone! I'm having major dress wobbles. When I first tried this dress on, I couldn't get it out of my head. I loved the colour, and there was just something about it. When I went for my pre-fit, I just wasn't wowed anymore, and the fact that I have now paid in full (no refunds) seemed to panic me. I keep thinking that I didn't try enough dresses on, (only tried about 6) and that it doesn't show my figure as nicely as some others might.

What do you all think? Do you think its too plain/traditional? Should I have gone for something a little more different? What do you think about the lace jacket? It would be great to get some unbiased opinions.

I think it gives you a lovely hourglass shape and I love the way it falls from the hip like that.

Personally I prefer it without the lace.

It looks stunning! I think I would too go without the lace. But then, I am biased as I have never been a fan of lace.

I agree, it's a beautiful dress but definitely without the jacket. No offense but I think the jacket makes it look a little tacky n cheap

Your waist is tiny in that dress!! It's great on you! Although, I think I would go lace-less too.

I think you look stunning and the dress fully compliments your shape and give a beautiful hourglass lookSmiley smile

Personally I love the lace it gives the dress a different look from the standard strapless dress but both ways look lovely on you so whatever you feel more happy with go for it x

I totally understand the dress wobbles I actually had some alterations done to my dress as I really wasn't happy when I picked it up ( but strangely I loved it when I ordered it!) which have changed the way it falls and sits I felt the train was too long and it was too puffy for me and I am sooo glad I did make the changes. What I'm trying to say is I understand how it feels to not love your dress when it arrives but when you get the right look from it it will be amazing.

Owlalice, I think that dress looks really really nice on you and it definitely compliments your figure.

I actually like the lace too and I think it will be lovely being able to have two looks on your day!

Try reassuring yourself and think about the amazing feelings/thoughts that you had when you decided to buy it. xxx

That dress looks really lovely, it suits you very well! I personally really like lace, and at least you can decide to wear it or take it off as you please Smiley smile Don't panic, you look stunning!

I love the lace jacket with the dress I think it accentuates your shoulders and flatters your beautiful dress. You also get 2 looks as you can take it off in the evening, you look wonderful.

It looks lovely on you! Am imagining a veil with some lace detail on the edges and a really sparkly necklace rather than the lace jacket. It really is beautiful, love the gathering at the waist Smiley smile x

This dress looks stunning on you! It gives you a perfect hourglass figure - I am most jealous of that!

I love the lace jacket, it just gives it an extra 'wow' for me - and as someone just posted, you can always take it off and have two looks in one!

Hi there, I prefer it with the lace jacket, and that way you can have two different looks for day/evening. The only thing that I would mention is that the jacket looks as though it is hanging a bit too low. If you raise it up around an inch or two, it would show off much more of your lovely waist and sit a bit better around the top x

KEEP THE LACE!! Stunning. It looks absolutely stunning.

Wobbles are natural. You look gorgeous. I love the idea that you can wear the lace during the day and whip it off at night.

    Really beautiful

I think the dress looks great on you - it gives you a gorgeous figure. I like the idea of the lace bolero but I'm not convinced that's the right one - one that covered your shoulders might be better. Also the bolero isn't nearly as fitted as your dress, but that may be something a seamstress can help with.

Completely agree with this, the lace adds something lovely to the dress, but it's not quite a perfect fit IMO.

Wow the dress looks gorgeous on you - stop wobbling!

Personally I don't like the way the lace jacket is off the shoulder. If you had something lace that covered your top a bit more that would be nice for during the ceremoney etc, then take it off for the evening.

Your dress is stunning! Looks beautiful and I think the way it shows off your slim figure and waist is perfect. Don't worry, dress wobbles are normal, but this dress is perfect. x

The dress is gorgous, I prefer it with the lace but would get it altered so it's a bit more fitted Smiley smile

    Lovely dress.

I'm not sure about the lace - I think lace could look nice but I don't think that's the right one? I'm not sure the fit is right.

Thank you so much everyone for your opinions and reassurance. I probably should have said at the start, these photos were taken when my dress first came in. The dress fits great, (apart from being too long!) but annoyingly the lace jacket is waaaay too big! Seemed to fit ok when I tried the sample on! (same size!)! lol. So, hopefully, it will fit/look better once I go for the fittings/alterations. I have to admit, I loved it at the beginning, then preferred me without it at the pre-fit. But that might be the fit of the jacket now. I seem to go back and forth!

Thank you though, because I do feel better about the dress Smiley smile
