Dress wobbles! *update with flash*

MrsS29, 1 September, 2010 at 13:59 Posted on Planning 0 26

I'm having serious dress wobbles, i dont know whats wrong with me Smiley sad

When my MIL first picked out my dress i thought oh no i dont like it but i tried it on because she had picked it. I ended up loving it, it was very slimming and when i showed my mum and BM's it on they loved it. From the day i tried it on i've always felt funny, i do really love it and it looks perfect on me but i still have some niggling in my head and cant shake it Smiley sad I feel like im missing out on something, i dont even know its a strange feeling!

Anyone else felt like this? I was thinking of trying a few more dresses on and if none of them compare then i know thats the one? Or is that a bad idea?

Help ladies!

xx

Well i went out dress shopping yesterday and found my dress in another shop so i tried it on with a few others to compare. Nothing did compare and i loved my dress all over again. Im so glad i went out and tried some on to reasure myself Smiley smile Finally got a pic of me in it too which has made me feel so much better!

What do you all think? xx

I did have this feeling with my first dress and then I tried on my now new dress and loved it straight away. I knew the feelings where justified and although the first one is beautiful its not the one for me.

Try it on again, try some others and see how you feel, but only if you can change your current dress otherwise you are just going to get yourself more down..

    Maybe a little flash?

I dont have a picture of me in the dress but heres a pic of the dress

I had this feeling I went for the romantica Wallis and payed the deposit but I kept having doubts about it I would have nightmares and everything

I loved the dress I just dont know what it was just had thisfunny feeling

I have now changed the dress to romantica Della and I love it just got a bit worried that it might be to plain ( for what people will expect) but I do love it so much and glad that the shop let me use the deposit to buy this dress now

if you have a feeling of exitment to wear it then you know its the one Smiley smile

    xx

That dress is simply stunning, very similiar to a Ronald Joyce one I tried on!

I do knwo what you mean though. I tried a dress on in the boutique I have ordered it from and loved it, fell head over in love and mum loved it too. I went back again for a fitting and tried a completely different dress on and fell in love instantly with that and my mum got all emotional! I was so glad I went back and tried another one on.

I think you should be able to swap it as long as it's not already made. I ordered my dress in July but she said she wouldn't put my order officially in until I have my first measurements which is in two weeks so I have up until then to change my mind.

I'm glad you like the dress ladies. Anyone i show it to does seem to love it! I think im finding it hard because its nothing like the dress i thought i would end up with. The type of dress i loved was anything but white and loads of ruffles etc. I dont know if thats just what is putting me off!

I have put £200 down but the dress hasnt been ordered/i havent been measured for it. Everytime i go to make an appointment to get measured something happens and i cant go (the shop is 45 minutes drive and i dont drive, it isnt easy to get to). I dont know if thats a sign or if im just trying to find reasons behind it lol x

If you haven't got that 'SQUEEEEEE' feeling about it, then it's probably not The One and you really should try on another before you make a proper commitment to this dress and end up regretting it. If they haven't ordered anything in yet, I don't see why they can't transfer the deposit.

There must be something in the air for dress wobbles as I've been in a state over the same thing all day!

Hello! I am new to the forum and I am having the same feelings about my dress.

That dress you have picked is gorgeous, but if the feeling is not there I would perhaps try something else. I have bought my dress already vintage late 60's evening dress. Its very me but I am concerned its not a 'wedding dress'

Go back, have another try on, see if you get that 'spark' if you dont try and negotiate with your dress shop about transferring deposit over, you may try some others on and then nothing compares to this one.

I think this dress is gorgeous, but if you dont feel right try something else. Its your decision and your day, take a bridesmaid with you to get some support and another opinion.

    Hope it goes ok

    xxx

    Hi,

I am having major wobbles right now. I feel I rushed into buying my dress wihtout looking at it properly. It is Ellis 11135 and i'm not sure I like the back.

I went back to try it on today and still feel a bit unsure about it. I can see it is stunning and makes my figure look great, but I don't like it from side view. I tried on another dress, Pronovias Nepal, and am seriously considering changing it. I felt so much happier and comfortable with it.

It's difficult, I can see Ellis 11135 is so glam but I think I would regret it. Not sure!!!!!! Have to go back again.

Dress wobbles are very common, but if you are constantly losing sleep (like me!), it may be a good idea to look around and see if there is anything you prefer.

I'm glad you love your dress again because it is absolutely stunning and really suits you! I keep having similar wobbles, keep wondering if I rushed into it and didn't try enough dresses on or visit enough shops. People saying "what, already??" didn't help either. Maybe I should try mine on again!

Firstly you look stunning!! but for the thing you wrote in bold about your mil.........Do you think this may be the reason you feel you are 'missing' something? because she picked it out first?? I know everyone dreams of seeing thier dress and literally their breath being taken away by 'the one' maybe (sub consiously) you wanted to 'find' it not someone else??

im not explaining myself very well i know sorry-anyway you do look gorgeous in that dress x

Oh you look superb in it - is that by any chance a Maggie? i recognise the dress but can't remember the name - and you are right, it's very flattering! I am having same feelings. I went last Sat to try on a dress I loved and hunted for all over Yorkshire and it brought tears to my eyes when i finally had it on plus the tiara the lady gave me "to look like the finished article" yet I still have doubts and especially looking at the other girls who were trying on dresses I kept thinking, oh no hers looks so much nicer!

Thank you all so much ladies, i feel a million times better now thank you very much Smiley smile

Im glad you all think it looks better on me than the skinny model lol!

Bailey yes its a maggie dress its called brianna Smiley smile

Amythest - i get what you're saying and i had thought that. Maybe it is that, the dress on the hanger doesnt take my breath away but on it does. All bad feelings i had have went away

    xx

Thank you again amythest, i wont be trying anymore on Smiley smile

I found a few dresses online that i loved so i tried them on last week and they didnt look as good on me or make me feel as good as my dress does. So i know i can rule them all out. Im so glad i went back and just tried a few on!

    xx
