dress wobbles! with *FLASH* me wearing it.......

naomiowen, 24 April, 2010 at 10:33 Posted on Planning 0 33

as you can see im not small ( was a size 20-22 in this pic am now a size 16) but im really worried about how i look, im very self concous anyway and it doesnt help i picked a dress opposit to what i set out for! not sure if im being too brave having a colour (burgundy) when im not exactly small and im not sure if it looks 'bridal' enough? if that makes sense?

i could really do with some onest un-biased opinions!

please help.xxxx

I personally think the dress looks lovely, you have a lovely figure and certainly dont look a size 20 in that picture.

By the time you have all the accessories to go with it you will look stunning. Well done on your weightloss too x

Honestly.............I think you look bloody lovely !

Your boobs look good, your waist looks small and your going in and out at all the right places. It's a very striking dress, definately bridal and I would love to see the back of it ?

I do understand how you feel, I'm on the big side and have had a million wobbles, especially as I have three bridesmaids a size 6 8 and 10, could only happen to me !

But when your hair is done, your make-ups on you will feel a million dollars xxxxx

Edit to say you have picture of the back up now ! It's lovely, mine has buttons all the way down the back and it gives it something extra xx

i was just a bit scared that a colour would stick out too much and look silly on a big girl! do you think you still stand out as a bride with a slightly colourd dress? im really worried i wont!(not in a attention sekking way, just a 'so whos the bride?!' kinda way!lol)

Does anyone think it would look ok with a corset back put in and keep the rest of the buttons or would it spoil it?x

No way would I have guessed you were a size 20-22 in that photo. That dress is gorgeous on and the colous is fab. It's definitely bridal and like CP said gorgeous silver jewellery would compliment that a treat. I'm sure the HIBs would be happy to help. x

Your figure looks amazing hun, there's no way i'd have said you were a 20 in that picture.

The dress is stunning and like the other girls have said once your hair and make up is done it'll all look gorgeous. xxx

You have a great figure and look lovely. You certainly don't look like a size 20!? You are all in proportion with a lovely shape. I don't think numbers matters, its shape, and you have a great one! Well done on the weight loss too!!

As others have said, once you have all your accessories on and hair done all your worries will dissapear. Even taking all your shoes and accessories into the bridal shop doesn't really show you how everything will look on the day.

With regards to accessories, I know we talked about the freshwater pearl comb. IMO I think you need to either go with bright white pearls or a mixture with red crystals rather than an all silver piece. I've made a comb using those colours before and something like this or an extended version, depending on your hair style, may suit. If you went for a statement hair piece like this I'd keep any necklace really plain and simple. Its all down to personal choice though so feel free to ignore me!

You know where I am if you need me!

Sorry I've just read the thread back and seen that it was another hitcher who mentioned accessories rather than you in your original post. Sorry if you didn't want suggestions. I'll leave my comments and pic up unless anyone wants me to remove it x

It's a lovely dress. I have a bit of black in mine as I couldn't handle the plainness of just one colour on me (I never wear white!).

I think it is bootiful and you look great in it xx

You also have like NO back fat, a waist, I really think it looks fabby and will even better on the day with your accessories and hair done etc!

I don't think there is any chance of you not looking bridel on the day. I love the colour! So much better than ones own plain ivory coloured dress. ;0

    Hi,

I know everyone else has said the same but seriously when you said you were a size 20 I reread your post because you really don't look like it. Well done on the weight lose. I bet that will help your wobbles so can you try the dress on again? You certainly look like a bride and can't imagine anyone thinking otherwise.

I've made quite a few hair accessories for brides with your colour scheme. This is a side band

If I can help with accessories just get in contact.

Well done again on the weight loss.

Thanxs all! i would love to say i wasnt a size 20 but i was!lol i chose that dress mainly because it has a clever cut/style that makes you look slimmer! there isnt any photos from the side but thats quite wide, you cant see it as much from the front thank god!

does anyone think putting a corset in the back and keeping the bottem buttons would look silly or ruin it?

i really like that side band PG pretty please could you email me that picture with the bride so i could see what it would look like on?

The dress looks great - as all the others have said you look far smaller - you'll look super-tiny on the day! Re the corset and then buttons, I'm not sure...I think it could work, but probably only if the buttons start quite low iyswim. But I'm naff at visualising things so prob not the best person to comment!

WEES - you look lovely, and figure looks amazing (well done on dropping so many dress sizes!!) i think it looks really bridal.

as for the corset, i honestly think it would take away from having the buttons all the way down. might break it up a bit too much - the straight line of buttons gives you a more streamlined, longer, slimmer look IYSWIM?

and i really like the idea of hair stuff with red crystals in. dont haev wobbles, it's gorgeous!xx

I prefer the buttons to the corset back and actually think the buttons are more slimming. You can take your email address down now as you should have 3 emails from me!

Keep the buttons- i LOVE buttons and just wish that i could have buttons on the back of my dress but it only came as a lace up.

    Dress looks lovely on you

You look lovely in it, and it doens't matter what size you are you can have whatever you want on your wedding day. I love colour, and wish I'd had a dress what incorporated it rather than having to shoe-horn it in which I will! It's very wedding-y and no-one will be in any doubt as to who is the bride!
