yummymummy05, 24 June, 2010 at 22:10 Posted on Planning 0 13

Are you from Bolton? Which suite have you gone for?

Sorry thought we'd have our own little thread.

Hows your planning coming along?

Hi! Im from bury but lived on the bury/bolton border for years...only 15 mins drive from last drop till we moved recently back to the bury side! are you in bolton?

planning is a bit slow as its not till nov 2012 so got ages yet but im mega excited! ive had a rough time of it but met my oh and everythings slotted into place!

we have the firwood suite, im slightly worried about the table linen as i spoke to a woman that does chair covers and that and she said that "the table linen at last drop is truly awful" but im not sure if that was just a ploy from her to get me to spend more money and have table skirts? (she was overpriced so wont be using her anyway lol)

hows things with you? bet your almost all sorted now?

    Hi,

Sorry havent been online for a few days. I would not hire the chair covers from the venue. They are like a lycra material and they are truly horrid! we have hired a venue dresser and shes doing the chair covers and table decorations. We've got the pennyfarthing suite.

Pretty much sorted now. just got flowers to sort out and gifts i think (i keep thinking ive missed something important) I'm not too far away from you. i'm at the top of bolton (kearsley to be exact)

Hi, i know where kearsley is so not that far! We nearly went for the penny farthing, its a gorgeous room, but thought it might be a little too small as our numbers keep growing already lol we missed the open evening last week as i had to go to a meeting at the high school but think theres another in august there? when we went up a few weeks back to talk to the wedding co-ordinator, there was a couple of weddings on....and everything looked amazing! can i be cheeky and ask who you have hired for your chair covers? i have had 2 quotes and one is reasonable and the other extortionate! i keep thinking im doing things far too early but i need things settled in my mind price wise!

Its going to fly by till your day now isnt it?!!

    Hi,

i dont think it cheeky at all. I'm happy to share my bargains. https://www.venuedresser.com/ is the website. She's based in Prestwich and does quite a lot of things. Think we're paying about £400 but thats for 50 chair cover, table decorations and few other bits and pieces. How many guests are you having? We went to one of the fayres a few months ago and they had our suite decorated. It looked so lovely.

I cant believe how fast its come round. Last Friday was the original date we set for the wedding. It feels like yesterday i was telling people ''oh its next year'' and ''its 10 months away'' Ive got 4 months and 4 days (my ticker is wrong somehow!!) I'm just in the process of looking for cake designs and finalise how i (sorry, we ?) want them decorated and arranging a dress fitting.

Its good to have someone else about the north west area. If you need any help/advice/tips, etc, let me know.

Hey, sorry its taken ages to get back to you. hope you're ok x

we have 70 on the list for the day time so far...but have a couple of pregnants and 2 planning baby making!

Hows everything with you? ive just been reading threads and seen you have had hypnotherapy for weight loss? hows that going?

i went to a couple of bridal shops with mum recently and had a try on...i loved it...didnt think i would though lol and i cant decide on colours although i am leaning more towards black and white but im not sure if i could pull off a white dress unless i went for a diamond white? cos the ivory ones looked a bit yellow on me!

    HI,

Planning not really moved apart from puuting the deposit down on the suits.

I was tempted to go for a coloured dress, but settled for ivory in the end. Enjoy the trying on of the dresses.

Hypnotherapy is not going bad. only had my first session on thursday but i've already cut out butter, crisps and chocolate and feel like im drowning with the amount of water i'm now drinking!! A few of us went from work and the woman who does it, is really good. Going back on thursday for another session.

Hows everything going at your end?

    Hi,

I'm counting down in weeks and days. Its 11 weeks and 1 day or 78 days to be precise. lol. I've still got to get flowers sorted, BMs shoes, gifts, table plan, placecards and the biggy... send out the rest of the invites!! Half of them have been written and waiting postage (day invites) but i havent even written the majority of the evening invites. The only ones i've written are my work ones and H2Bs cricket ones. I'm now starting to get a bit bridezilla-ish. Still got to organise my hen do which is soooo stressfull as no one wants to confirm or give me the money to book it.

Did you have a look at the website for the chair covers? The lycra covers are definately hideous (sp?) I only have 1 fear at the moment - my dress!! Its too small. Think Buldging Brides needs to come over to the UK!!

Hows your planning coming along? Have you got anything else booked? If you need any more help/recommendations give me a shout

Hey! 78 days? lol (77 now?)! wooo! I can sympathise with you on the hen organising! I was chief bridesmaid for my sil last year when she was marrying my brother and it was just awful trying to sort hers out...like you mentioned no one wants to confirm or give deposits! we eventually went on 2...for a day out at alton towers and then a couple of weeks later night out round bolton all dressed in neon and tu-tus! and those 2 simple things were just too much hassel lol

I did have a look on that website you gave me...all looks good....im still stuck on what colours i want...thinking black and white but people keep saying i need a big bold colour to tie it all together to not make it look like a funeral lol men will be in tails so i just dont know ? still plenty of time!

Are you going real or artificial flowers?

Re bulging brides!! im sure they either have a dress thats far too small to start off with and then get a bigger size or its taken longer than 6 weeks! it doesnt convince me lol

how small is too small with your dress? i bet on the day it will fit like a glove...all the stress will knock a few pounds off!

    xx

About 3-4 inches too small!! I'm really panicing as i'm not sure i'll be able to fit in it.

we're going for real flowers. Have an appointment with a florist tomorrow morning.

Hen-do is such a nightmare! I'm only planning on going to the birdcage in manchester for good pi$$ up. My theme is going to be exactly the same! Neon and tu-tus! lol

I've gone for a red and silver colour scheme. You've got plenty of time to decided (and change your mind about a thousand times)

Theres defiantely something not quite right about the 'buldging brides' always fitting in their dresses. Well, i have 11 weeks to get my bum in gear and shift some inches. Although the weather doesnt really help when i fancy going for a walk ☹️
