I'm so gutted, the wedding co ordinator at our venue has gone on long term sick, we've just received a new contract through (the original contact was only a terms and condition thing) and the package we've got only includes a glass of bucks fizz on arrival and 1 glass of wine with the meal. At my enitial meeting with the 1st wedding planner she had said that the package ALSO included a glass of sparkling wine for the toast and the corkage fee was £10. I've just spoken to new wedding planner and the package does NOT include the glass of sparkling wine and the corkage is £15............i am so frustrated that i didn't get the prices in writting from the 1st planner!!!!!! i am now also worried about the catering arrangments that were made with the first planner incase they're wrong.

It is a buget thing and theres going to be a cash bar at the venue but i was worried about looking a bit tight if i only offer guests the 2 drinks. There are only 35 day guests and the hotel have informaed me that i can purchase sparkling wine from them for £25 a bottle, would anyone have an idea at how many bottles we'd need to buy for the toast?

Hi, don't know if i can offer much help but i thought most venues that do packages offer a reception drink, glass of wine with meal and sparkling wine for the toast, because thats what normaly goes on in the day, i would ask your new planner if they can meet you half way at least because obviously you were given information that you thought to be correct. As to how many bottles it may be best to over estimate than to under so you know you will have enough.

Our is in with the package so i wouldn't know how many you need. i would have a try and get a reduction because its not your fault

    Good luck x

Work on the basis of 6 glasses from a bottle of champagne and 4 from a bottle of wine.

We've just bought our pink fizz for the reception frinks and the toasts and we've got 36 bottles for 74 people (allows for 2 glasses per person for the drinks reception and 1 for the toast)

Hotel have just said that the package never included the sparkling wine and the £10 corkage were last years price, but i can get bottle of sparkling wine from them for £24 or pay £25 corkage fee if i supply my own sparkling wine or champagne, eek!!!
