The M5 accident got me thinking about this over the weekend. They're now saying that the smoke from the neighbouring rugby club firework display could have contributed to the treturous driving conditions, but I also wonder if people were driving to close and too fast. When it snowed badly in the South East in December 2009, I was shocked by how people were driving (far too close to the car in front and far too fast). Consequently, there were about 5 accidents on my way home on one particular day. Lorries and other vehicles were overtaking me on the motorway even though we were all driving on sheet ice!
Just awful watching it on the news though. My thoughts are with those involved and their families. So glad Cricks was alright and missed the whole thing.
