Driving Liscence Endorsements.

Quick question for anyone in the know.

If the date of offence was 2003, but the date of conviction was 2006 and the DVLA website says the points come off the licsence 4 years from the date of offence, should they be off now?

Doesn't seem right that it took 3 years to get the points on there and they only stay on there for a year.

Can anyone confirm that it's offence date rather than convicted date? I know it seems a daft question when the website clearly states offence date, but i'm not sure.

TIA

It depends upon the offence - for something to take so long to be convicted wouldn't it be one of the offences listed that went from conviction rather than date of offence.

It's an IN10 offence code and it clearly says from date of offence.

The reason for the delay in convicting said person was that the police / court couldn't find him (I think he moved house several times).

It just seems incredible that the "punishment" could only really last a year.
