Dubai Advice

MrsMtobe2016, 2 January, 2015 at 15:21 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 4

Hi,

I'm looking into stopping in Dubai for 4 nights before flying onto the Maldives for 10 nights for our honeymoon.

Does anyone have any good reccomendations for a hotel? We already had it priced up based on The Atlantis hotel, but I think i'd prefer to stay at a hotel that isn't as 'child friendly' and perhaps more romantic. Any suggesitons?

I'd also love any suggestions on anything to do whilst there. It's not until March 2016, but I'd love some bits to start researching now.

xx

Hi. I would advise against the Atlantis - it's a great place to visit, but you're stuck out on the palm, so travelling everywhere to see things, plus I found the sand really gritty underfoot as it's manmade - though not a deal breaker, theres always the pool ?

I've stopped with a friend who lives by the Dubai Maill / Burj Khalifa so we could walk to the mall and the things around the Burj, took taxi's to other places though.

I've been looking for places to stop there recently for a September holiday, I now have to look for child friendly, so can't vouch for 'romantic' but I don't think you can go far wrong in Dubai, either Jumeriah beach area is good or hotels in madinat jumeriah resort - had an evening meal there one night, great atmosphere at night

For things to do - visit the malls, they are immense - we went skiing in the one. A desert / dune bashing trip in the afternoon / evening. sightseeing round the old town / souks, getting an abra across the creek. Also, if you don't stop in Atlantis, go to the water park for the day it's great. Drinks in the one & only royal mirage courtyards in the evening were great. Oh & if you're there on a friday you must go for brunch.

Enjoy - esp' the Maldives afterwards.

We have just come back from Dubai, we stayed at JA ocean view; not necessarily romantic but it was a nice hotel. We went for dinner at Eauzone at The one and only royal mirage and it was lovely- really romantic setting, when we go back I will definitely be looking to stay there ;-)

we spent a day at Atlantis (as we both love water parks), went up Burj Khalifa (book in advance), jeep safari

    Hi,

When we went we stayed at the Sofitel on JBeach, which was a lovely hotel and views out to the palm with an outdoor pool on one of the upper levels.

As everyone has said theres lots to do, but one other thing we did that we enjoyed was booking for cocktails at the Sky Bar at the Burj Dubai (the sail shape one). You can go for dinner/lunch there etc but that was sooo expensive and out of our price range, although did look amazing! With the cocktail bar though you book in advance, have the table for about 2 hours and I think its a minimum spend of around £80-100 a couple. I know thats a lot of money for cockails, but they are about £20 each I think so you make the limit easily, and its a special evening out as you cant even get into the Burj Dubai without a reservation to see the 7* experience. Its expensive but we did it as our treat while we were there, and if you can its worth going

    Have fun! xx

Depends on whether you want to be near the beach or not but...... the Al Manzil is nice and near Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa etc so transport links are good.
