Dukan Diet

xtine88xx, 16 October, 2011 at 10:03 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 14

I have seen a few posts on here from a while back so thought i'd start a new thread to see if anyone else is doing the Dukan diet? I am on day 6 and can honestly say I feel SO motivated to carry on with it! I weighed myself last Sunday and was 11st 9. Started the diet on Monday. Weighed myself today and I'm 11st 3!

Cannot believe that something is actually working. I have been really good and stuck to it religiously (apart from one little sweet last night but I deserved it!) and it's definitely paid off!

I know I have a couple of stone to lose but this is definately the kick start I needed. I WILL be a skinny bride!

I started the dukan diet just over a month ago and am now in the final stage. I didn't have a drastic amount to lose, so have gone through the stages fairly quickly, I lost 8lbs in the first 5 days. So far I have lost 1 stone 7lbs and averaging 2lbs weight loss a week now. It's the first diet that I have seen such quick results, I love it and feel do much happier in myself. Good luck with your weight loss! X

Yes Sheree! Once you get into it, it's fairly easy. The amount you lose will give you the will power to carry on. The first 5 days are the hardest, but once you have ploughed your way through it, its easy if your mind is set to it. I have tried many diets over the years and this is the only one I lost weight on. I have put a few pounds on but know in the New year that I can do it really quickly.

    Give it a go!

I did it earlier in the year and lost 21lbs in a month. Like Kate says, the first few days are the hardest, but once you get into it and start seeing the lbs drop off, it gives you the incentive to carry on.

This diet sounds like it is good one by the sounds of all your posts. What is it exactly, and how hard is it to stick to?

Hi, This is the first time i've been in this forum (usually addicted to the planning forum).

My Aunt, and my OH, have both suggested I lose weight for the wedding. Of course, at first, I thought "Why should I? I don't have a problem with my weight (size 14 due to being curvy) and this is me". BUt I now think that, if I don't lose weight I might wish I had and regret that. I also love the idea of being my thinnest for the photos!

So I have been reading various threads and researching and I like the sound of Dukan diet. I would like to know - For those who found it succesful, did you just buy the book and follow that or did you pay for the online support/coaching etc through the official website? I would prefer not to pay but want to be succesful.I've never been on a 'diet' before (just had periods of healthy eating).

I hope no one minds that I am bogarting this thread...I think it ties in with mrssmith's question.

I have started this today, got 4 stone to lose in all so I'm doing 1 stone at a time (because all at once would mean 6 months cruise and nearly a year on the consolidation - eek!)

PLEASE can someone tell me how to make the oat bran edible? Made porridge with vanilla flavouring this morning and it was like vanilla flavoured mud! And I can't do aspartame as it gives me migraines - can I use Splenda instead?

FWIW I was quoted over £500 for online support - no way I'm paying for that if I have to fork out for steak!

For whoever asked about what it involves - week 1 is protein only, followed by alternating protein only and protien plus veg days, then you gradually reintroduce fruit & carbs, followed by 1 protein only day a week forever. Get the book - it makes it all very clear.

I started Dukan 6th Feb this year, and I think I'm about 5kgs down - although my scales are a bit dodgy. So yay, working so far. Even more motivated now, as originally I was just hoping to lose weight but since getting engaged on Monday I've doubled my motivation - and I've also been so excited I haven't wanted to eat for the first time ever!

I actually got the book from a friend and have managed it without paying the coaching fees for the website - I saw a Watchdog programme on it a while ago and it said it was a total rip off, but I like the science behind it and always feel better when I 'low - carb' anyway, so thought I'd go with my own motivation!

And I love the oatbran! Usually have either the pancakes or the porridge, but mostly as a dessert with either sweetener or low carb chocolate powder.

Mind you, it's my engagement party on Sat, so I don't know how I will manage to resist the cake...and buffet....but we'll see how it goes! That dress is enough motivation for me!

    Good Luck girlies!xxx

ETA: apparently Splenda is the best kind of sweetener as it's made from sugar...so more natural, but I don't know where I got that info from!

I made porridge or pancakes with it normally. You can make cakes with it too. For the porridge I put a tablespoon or 2 of cocoa powder in with it and it was actually quite nice.

I've been on dukan since August last year and by December id lost almost 2 stone. I've been on and off it since Xmas so have only lost another pund since but am back on it religiously now as I need to hit target by the summertime! I love the diet it's just my sugar cravings that cause me to mess up!

Ive been on this for a month. Like everyone says it works very well. I dont have a huge amount to loose and have lost 10 lbs so far and got 6 more to go but 2lbs a week when doing the protein only and then protein and veg is the miniumum you would loose. I find it quite tough to stick to and crave vegetables on the PV days. also i get quite grumpy with it. but it is def the best diet i have tried. unislim was total rubbish. plus with this if you put some on all you have to do is do a few PV days and it falls off again! try it!

Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind that I'm coming into this thread :-)

I'm on day two of the Dukan and I can't wait to weigh in on Friday to see how I'm doing! I must say, I'm feeling very sluggish today but nothing a lot of water can't help!

I bought the book from Amazon (£4.99) and read it to get all the info and made my own food lists. It's got a lot of recipes in it and really helped me!

Hope you're all getting on well ?
