Dukan Diet Support Thread!

panda2011, 8 December, 2010 at 11:45 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 161

As there are so many of us who are going to be on this diet over the next few months this thread is so we can swap tips/recipies & keep us all motivated. I'm currently 10 stone 12lb after having my baby in February. I want to get down to 9 stone 4lbs before September 10th so I can fit into my perfect dress.

My first goal is to loose the stone that has slowly crept on over the last year or so. I have lots of jeans etc. that I can't get into at the moment and would love to re-discover my existing wardrobe! Think this may call for an additional ticker...

I don't really know what I'm doing yet as I only ordered my book yesterday. I did have 2 fat free activias for breakfast, and have bought chicken drumsticks for lunch. Am I right in thinking that I can't eat the skin though?!

Fab, there are quite a few of us starting the diet together! Most important girls, don't forget to pop to Tescos to get your Oatbran - it's in the cereals section. It really helps with the weight loss ?

You can buy the Dukan diet books on amazon. There is also a facebook group & a dukan diet website which both offer loads of advise. You don't have to subscribe to the website to be able to get a lot of info from it.

What can I have for lunch ladies? Needs to be something I can quickly pop into Sainsburys for, with no cooking involved (I'm at work). I'm guessing prawns in cocktail sauce is out?! Meat and fish without sauce will be hard!

Nice big pot of fat free natural yoghurt for starters ? Predone chargrilled chicken?

Like the idea of the pre cooked chargrilled chicken. I have been having 2 yoghurts during the morning for breakfast so probably won't want the natural yoghurt! Is there anything I can put with the prawns to jazz them up?

Ili you can make a low fat yoghurt based dressing to go with prawns - try yoghurt with a dash or lemon juice & chopped chives ?

slimming secret of Dr Pierre Dukan

    Cider vinegar

Two tablespoons of vinegar cider before every high risk meal

On 4 continents, cider vinegar is acknowledged as being slimming. Dr Jarvis in Vermont in the USA, the Appelford study, a Japanese team, the CITAB in France, a team in Morocco and age-old tradition prove, generation after generation, that vinegar is a traditional adjuvant for weight control. Looking at the studies and observations the consensus on the amount is 2 tablespoons.
Taken at the start of a meal, vinegar has a lysis action on proteins and fats. A natural product par excellence, its only drawback is it acidity which limits how much you can take, and if people with a sensitive stomach or past history of ulcers can use it at all. If cider vinegar has an effect on proteins and fats, on our rich and fatty dishes, it has no effect at all on carbohydrates, starchy foods, flours, patisseries, sugar and sweet things. Only chocolate, because of its high fat content, benefits from its detergent action.

For breakfast have you considered oatbran porridge? Could be flavoured with vanilla or cinnammon. ?

Can i join in too, desperate to lose a stone and a half, but so difficult trying to juggle menus with 3 kids, but hubby wants to loose weight too, our biggest downfall is wine, so cutting that out is going to be really hard, esp as i use it as a form of pain relief!!

found this with some great menus

    https://www.mydukandiet.com/recipes/

    have ordered the book too

2011 is going to be such a great positive year.....time to get myself sorted me thinks xx

Have to say from what limited research ive done...this seems like my kind of diet!! Has anyone joined the website - too pricey for my liking. Is this diet do able without committing to £114 in subscription fees??

I'm off to buy the books from Amazon. Put 2 stone on in the past year and feeling pretty miserable about it, need to stop moaning and do something about it.

Are you all excerising in addition? that's my downfall!!

How was your first day Starstruck?

    I'm in a bit of pickle. . .

I'm breastfeeding and the advice I've been given both my the HV and the website is that I can't do it.

I don't know what to do...it's a bit silly and selfish to stop BFing in order to diet isn't it ?

No HV will approve of a BF mum dieting unfortunately. Feeding your baby takes a lot out of your body & if you start dieting it may affect the quality of milk you produce or make you produce less milk. The best thing you can do is wait until you are ready to stop BFing & then start on your diet ☹️

I was doing really well until dinner! Especially considering I don't yet have the book. I caved and shared a pizza with my OH. In my defence, it was only half a pizza, but I may have had a glass of wine to wash it down!!! ?

I think I may do better when I have the book!

This makes it incredibly hard. He is so slim though (he's a P.E. teacher), so he doesn't need to diet!

Ah, but this is where the Support Thread comes in ? When I restart the diet in January I will also be on it on my own as OH needs to lose a stone but has his own weird diet which I won't follow. You need to be quite self disciplined to stick to the diet on your own which is why I'm not re-starting it until January 1st lol! If you feel you're about to have a wobble just hop on here & we'll do what we can to support you ?

Starstruck, sounds like you are adjusting well to the diet so far!

I'm very impressed ladies! I'm going to start this tomorrow, as like Ili, I've got to lose the weight that's crept on and keeps me out of my jeans!

I'm going to steal the recipe ideas you have added in, thank you! May I ask how you're making your curry sauce? It sounds yummy!

Anyone else come across any tasty ideas?

    Thanks!

Starstruck thats brilliant 4lbs ? already

tongiht is my last norm eating night, having said that its a chinese for my sons birthday, so we'll eat loads!!!

Took a while to find the oatbran, looks like this, just to help so you know what you're looking for.

Even the staff couldn't tell us where it was...

menu for tomorrow, yoghurt and oat bran - brilliant idea starstruck, wouldn't have thought of combining the two

prawns and cottage cheese for lunch

Chicken curry with oat pancakes for tea

    Does that sound ok?
