Some good meal ideas there. Thank you for sharing those. I am hoping the book will arrive soon so that I can start properly. Starstruck, amazing weight loss so far. That has made me more determined to give this a real go.

Need to get some oatbran today. I have left over spag bol for dinner tonight (was going to eat without the pasta), but it has tomatoes in it. Is that allowed on an attack day?

Did you just mix chilli spice and ground ginger with a bit of yogurt to make the sauce?

Been surfing the tinterweb for recipes and thought this sounded interesting:

    Ingredients:

    1 tbls cocoa powder

3 tbls oatbran (I understand that you can only have 1.5 per day on the attack phase)

    100-150ml skimmed milk

    1-2 tbls sweetener

    Method:

Measure 3 table spoons of oat bran into a cup or a small bowl and pour in the milk.

Add 1-2 table spoons of sweetener, depending on your preference, add the low fat cocoa powder and mix everything together.

Heat up in a microwave for 1 minute.

Stir the mixture and let the oat bran soak for a while.

Once thickened you can heat it up for another 30 seconds in the microwave.

    Oh, that looks nice!

I was too busy for breakfast this morning but so far have had some chicken and some ham (roasted off a chicken yesterday for this purpose) and a fat free activia yoghurt with some oatbran in. Was very tasty. Filling too.

Tonight we're going to do some sort of turkey kofta thing like Starstruck mentioned.

I didn't realise it was just 1,5 spoons of oatbran at the moment.

(Really ought to buy and read the book!).

Is there a limit to how much you can actually eat on the attack phase?

That sounds nice Starstruck. You could also do the same with garlic and serve that with yogurt too.

Sainsburys didn't have oatbran (useless) so I will have to pop to Tesco tonight to get some. I really want to try the chocolate porridge (will have to cut the recipe in half though for attack).

I bought sweet chilli chicken breast slices for lunch (no skin), so I am hoping that will do?! My book isn't due until Wednesday, so I'm going to have to wing it til then!

We bought our oatbran from Sainburys. It looked different to the picture above (ours is oatbran sprinkles or something like that) but it is 100% oatbran. In a pringle shaped pot. Near the Oatso Simple stuff. Happy shopping.

That's where I looked and they didn't even have oatbran sprinkles. Never mind. Shall pop into Tesco on the way home.

Starstruck - huge well done for sticking with it and seeing the results! 3lb in 3 days is amazing - especially when you think that slimming world / weight watchers only helps you to lose approximate 2lb a week! Youve motivated me to start now! I was gonna wait until after christmas, but will start now and pick it up again in the new year! Ive bought some onken fat free vanilla yoghurt- is that ok? My books haven't arrived yet! I bet Amazon are wondering why there's been a huge surge in sales this week! Lol I've also bought some cocoa powder to stir in my yoghurt too - that was a great tip! I'm gonna weigh myself first thing in the morning and post my starting weight!

Ok a couple of questions before I take the plunge. For those of you that have the books - do you recommend both of them or do you think the recipe book is enough. Second one - how on earth do you manage not to have 'something' (veggies/rice whatever) with your meat dish during the attach phase?? The idea of just eating a bit of chicken or whatever does sound rather daunting - especially when made into some of the yummy dishes you guys have been making.

Do you like my chocolate oatbran porridge?

It was actually quite tasty. I made half the amount to take into account that you can only have 1.5 tbls of oatbran during the attack phase. Think I would eat this all day otherwise! You definitely need to let it stand for a few minutes after the first whizz in the microwave, and then put it in again for 30 seconds as this really thickens it up.

I weighed myself this morning and I have lost between 1-2lbs on day one. So pleased as I found yesterday quite difficult. Half way through my pack of chilli chicken for lunch and I started feeling queasy! Having said that, I've always been a bit funny about chicken. If it doesn't taste 'proper' (some pre-packaged stuff tastes a bit fake) it makes me feel ill! I had the left over spag bol, minus the pasta, last night for dinner, which was very nice.

Ili - that looks yummy!! I wish I'd have read your post first!!! I'm on day 1 and just tucking into fat free vanilla yoghurt with the oatbran in it! I was just thinking how I miss a warm breakfast!!

Tomorrow it's chocolate oatbran porridge!!! Smiley smile

Well, I've had my first weigh in and i'm 11st 11lb - so no change from last week! Phew! I'm gonna find this really hard cause my OH is diabetic and we aren't sure how him having no carbs will affect his blood sugar - He may have to keep going with the carbs - which is where i'm gonna struggle. Katscamel said it - It's gonna be hard eating just fish / chicken without anything else when someone at the same table is eating lovely mash!

Well done to all of you who have stuck with it so far!! Smiley smile

I would definitely recommend it. I wasn't convinced it would work when looking at the packet of oatbran, but it does. I'm saving mine for later as an after dinner snack.

Just thought of another sweet treat - meringues! I read somewhere that you can buy egg whites in cartons at the supermarket. Anyone seen these? Anyway, as you are allowed unlimited egg whites on the attack phase, egg whites can be whisked up and baked to make meringues. Then perhaps serve with no fat yogurt flavoured with vanilla extract and a bit of sweetener?

ETA - I would add sweetener to the egg whites rather than sugar!

    Oatbran pancakes

Stir 1.5 tbsp of oat bran with 1.5 tbsp of non-fat fromage frais, an egg and sweetener or salt, then cook for two minutes each side in a non-stick pan.

Apparently you can spread this with Dukan ‘nutella’, made by blending 1 egg yolk, 1 tsp cocoa powder, 2 tbsp of sweetener and a little water. I may just put a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract into the mixture though!

    Herb sauce

2 tsp cornflour 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 2 shallots, finely chopped 2 tbsp virtually fat-free fromage frais 3 sprigs of parsley, finely chopped 3 sprigs of tarragon, finely chopped 4 chives, finely chopped Salt and black pepper

Blend the cornflour in 100ml (3½ fl oz) water and, along with the garlic and shallots, add it to the fromage frais. Heat over a gentle heat for two minutes and add herbs at the very last minute. Season with salt and pepper.

My only issue with this diet do far is that when we bought all of the food at the weekend, we forgot to buy a set of scales! What a spoon!

Today seemed to go well and we had the turkey koftas for dinner. I've just had an oatbran pancake for breakfast (I thought you could add some skimmed milk so mine ended up a bit gloopy but will know for next time!), scrambled egg and some smoked salmon and chives. It feels like a very decadent breakfast for a diet!

I was thinking of the tin of tuna/salmon for lunch. What can I add to it to make it more exciting?

P.S. I'm pleased to report no toileting issues! ?

Hmmmm, I would have suggested having it in a savoury oatbran pancake but you will have used your daily allowance. There is a recipe for Dukan mayonnaise:

1 egg yolk 1 tbsp Dijon mustard Salt and black pepper 1 tbsp chopped parsley or chives 3 tbsp virtually fat-free fromage frais or quark

Put the egg yolk in a mixing bowl and combine with the mustard. Season with salt and pepper and add herbs. Gradually mix in the fromage frais or quark, stirring continuously. Keep chilled.

I am really struggling today. I didn't have time to cook anything last night for lunch today and I'm really wishing I brought my oatbran to work. I will have to find something to eat for lunch from Sainsburys today that requires no cooking. I'm really tempted to buy a ready meal and leave the carbs. Cannot eat another packet of cooked chicken today. The thought is making my stomach turn!

So impressed that you are still going strong on Day 5 Starstruck!

What about a chicken curry? That's what I am having tonight. OH will have his with rice.

Had some cold cuts in the end for lunch, and will have a yogurt as well I think. Feeling a bit crappy today. Have a headache and feel a bit dizzy. I understand that this is normal though during the attack phase.

It is literally just 0% yogurt and curry powder. Some people also add cooked chopped onion, which I think is allowed on the AP? I don't have the book yet either, so perhaps someone else can confirm that? I do know that you are allowed to use herbs and spices, so you should be able to adapt most curry recipes.

I'm only on day 2! Think it will be a 3 day AP for me!

    Thanks Ili!

I've also found a recipe for spiced yoghurt - perfect for dipping the koftas / meatballs / chicken strips in to make it a bit more lively!

2 chillies, seeded and finely chopped

1 tsp fresh mint leaves, chopped

    1 tsp chives, snipped

1 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

    1 tsp parsley, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed to a paste in a pestle and mortar

    ½ tsp ground cumin

    250g/9oz Greek-style yoghurt

I like the idea of the mint yogurt.

I thought you could have onions. In that case, making a chicken curry, sans rice, should be fairly easy and should still taste like a proper curry. You could also make a savory type nan/pancake to go with it. Really wish the oatbran limit was more on AP.

Thought as much. It has passed now though - thank you Activia yogurt!

Well, it's the start of day 3 for me. Weighed myself this morning and I have lost another lb! Hurrah! The chicken curry was really nice. I may have cheated a tiny bit! I put a few chopped peppers and a few sultanas in it, but I doubt very much that that will have a huge impact. I made meringues last night to munch on today, so I'll let you know what they taste like later on.

Right, I have my work Christmas meal next Thursday at the local Chinese, so I think I will take a break after that for Christmas. Can I do a mini consolidation before that do you think to try to stablise my weight loss?

I survived day 1!! Well done ili! 3lb in 2 days! Smiley smile I also made the chicken curry last night! It was lovely! Thanks Smiley smile Well, I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lb!! I was wavering last night and really craved chocolate but I'm glad I held out! Seeing the results on the scales makes it all worth it! I'm doing the same as you ili. I'm gonna stay on attack until Friday then have next week as consolidation. But then in the new year I'm going to start attack again to give me that boost to lose the pounds I put on at Christmas!

Well done! I lost 2 of the 3lbs in the first day too. I'm guessing most of that is water, so it is bound to slow down after that.

I have a confession to make! I did eat my advent calendar chocolate last night, but it was miniscule!

I might try to stay on the AP until Friday. Depends how I get on today! Wish the book would hurry up so I know what to do for consolidation.

Day 3 for me. No idea how much weight I've lost as I only bought the scale this morning. I am a good half stone heavier than I thought I was. Eeeek.

The cruise phase is before consolidation. See here: https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/pierre-dukan-diet/cruise-phase.htm

Basically, you get to add certain vegetables every other day!

I was a bit heavier than I orginally thought as well, although only a couple of pounds. But then I weigh myself at least once a week, even when I'm not dieting! *is compulsive*
