I lost another lb yesterday! ?

I found yesterday much easier than the previous 2 days, until I went home and my OH was cooking the most delicious smelling pizza! Perhaps it smelt so good because I'm feeling deprived?! I was good and resisted. I stuck to my homemade chicken curry, which tasted nowhere near as nice as his pizza smelt.

Moving onto day 4 of attack...

Day 4 for me too, well done iliacit on the weight loss thats brilliant ?

Hardest thing for me was giving up the wine, but hubby and me are doing it together so a little bit easier with that bit of support, hubby sank a whole bottle of wine last night though, but i managed to resist, which a month ago i know i wouldn't have been able to do, but having come this far don't want to mess it up...

i did pinch 10 (yes i counted them lol) onion ring crisps off my sons lunch yesterday ? but apart from that pretty much stuck to it...

I don't know if I can put up with it for to much longer to be honest. Carbs are calling me!! I am worried about putting the weight straight back on when I reintroduce carbs though. I will try and limited how many I eat at first. I keep dreaming about mince pies, potato and pasta!

Well done to your OH, he's doing well.

ETA - I really miss wine too Crafty Em. It took real strength to stop myself from pouring a glass for the HA last night!

I'm finding it ok for breakfast and dinner. Just lunch gets me down. There's half a roast chicken and some ham in the fridge but the thought is making me feel yuck.

Had a yoghurt and then scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.

Starstruck - don't worry about caving, it is a tough diet & you have done remarkably well so far! I would suggest you go onto the cruise phase now until Christmas & then start again in the new year.

CB - maybe it's time you start cruisng too if you are starting to find it a struggle?

    Cruise Phase Martinique Chicken Fricassee

    1kg Chicken

    salt & black pepper

    3 drops of oil

    4 tomatos- quartered

    250g button mushrooms

    2 egg yolks

    250g fat free fromage frais

Season the chicken with salt & pepper - brown in a caserole dish (oiled & wiped) for 10 mins over a medium heat.

Add the mushrooms, cover & cook for 40 minutes.

After 30 mins, add the tomatos.

Put the egg yolks into a glass bowl with the fromage frais & mix well. Take 2 ladlefuls of the juices from the chicken, add to the bowl & mix.

Heat the sauce in the glass bowl over a saucepan of boiling water (bain marie) to prevent curdling.

Pour sauce over chicken & serve!

Although it is still chicken, because there are the mushrooms & tomato it feels like a more 'normal' meal. Might be nice with some onion thrown in as well.

    Attack Phase Cookies!

    2 seperated eggs

    1/2 teaspoon liquid sweetner

    20 drops vanilla extract

    2 tablespoons oat bran

    Pre-heat oven to 180c/350F/Gas 4

mix the egg yolks, sweetner, vanilla & oat bran.

Beat egg whites until stiff & fold into bran mixture.

Pour into a flat baking tin & bake for 15 - 20 minutes

Might help with some carb/sweet cravings!

If chicken is getting to you try lamb or beef instead - a mint yoghurt dressing on lamb is yummy.

Ili, You can have mint sauce. Make it yourself with dried mint (unless you happen to have some fresh, vinegar & instead of sugar add a little sweetner ?

For steak, try mixing a teaspoon of mustard with fat free yog or quark & a bit of pepper - makes it much more exciting!

Try salmon (would prob work with different fish too) with pesto - make a parcel to sit your fish in out of tin foil. Spread pesto over the top of the fish & bake the fish in it's parcel.

Same here cb & ili. Although I do have a chicken roasting in the oven now! OH just made us some burgers with some minced beef we had in the fridge - all he did was mixed in some finely chopped onions, chives and an egg to bind them and fried them on the George foreman. They were a lovely snack! I was dreaming about cheese slices on top with ketchup thought! Lol My books have arrived!!!! Not had a chance to look through yet but will do tonight! Day 3 almost done and I've lost 5lb!! That's what's really keeping me going. I craved crisps today but I'm trying not to think about anything like that! I just had some lovely sugar free chewing gum! Which is actually great for that sweet craving! Starstruck - don't worry about caving! It is Christmas after all! The season well known for gorging on delicious foods! I'm trying to stay on AP for 7 days then stop for Christmas. The only issue I'm having is the headaches Smiley sad

Am craving a takeaway - I figure I can have marinated grilled chicken skewers and tom yum soup from the Thai place? No carbs, just someone else cooking?

    Any suggestions?!

    Hi ladies,

I am well up for starting this diet...am getting married June 2012 and want to start seriously sorting my weight and tone up/exercise now so that am in a routine and can see results in time for my wedding..

My only problem being is I can't afford to start the diet yet as can'f afford to join on the dukan website, which says you have to pay so much per month and they give you a diet sheet etc etc - is this what everyone else is doing?

Also, it's not that am a picky eater but......I don't eat any red meat, or more to the point the only meat i do eat is Chicken/Turkey am also not keen on fish, but do eat Salmon - would the Dukan diet still be any good for me???

    Sorry for all the questions!!!

Hey cb, sounds like a great idea! - the only concern I'd have is how much salt will be in it? I read that salt increases your appetite! I had KFC last night. Whilst the others ate full meals, I ordered 4 pieces of chicken and removed all the skin - I know chicken will probably be the last thing you want right now! Sarah- none of us have joined the website and I'm like you - I don't like fish except cod, and I only eat a small amount of red meat. You can eat eggs, and fat free yoghurt - if you look in the threads above, there's a couple of links to some websites that have recipes on there. I bought the book from amazon for £6 - this explains all about the diffent stages of the diet and the importance of each stage. Go for it and good luck! Everyone on here is very supportive and will offer advice and tips! Smiley smile (sorry for no paragraphs - I'm writing from my iPad and don't know how to put paragraphs in cause it won't let me!)

I did think you weren't supposed to eat lamb, but tbh, I'm following my own lax version of the Dukan diet to stop me from going insane! I did have lamb last night, and with shop bought mint sauce ?, but last night I was so happy! I only lost 1/4 lb yesterday, but I don't think it's due to the lamb. I am sorry to say that I am now reporting 'toileting' issues, as in there is nothing to report!! Because of this I fully expected a gain when I stepped onto the scales this morning, so I'm very happy that I still lost a small amount. I expect the weight loss will slow down now anyway, as the majority of initial weight loss is water. Erm, and I may also have had yesterdays and todays advent chocolate! ?

I also tried out the Duk-can't pancake recipe, with disastrous results. Just look what it did to my pan:

I'm a really good pancake maker as well so I was most upset! It tasted ok with a bit of sweetener on top. When I make regular pancakes I use butter to stop them from sticking. I used Fry Light last night which isn't anywhere near as good.

Think I'm going to have moules tonight as a Friday night treat.

What did you have in the end Cricks?

Tom Yum soup (avoided the actual veg in it) with prawns and the grilled chicken (left the satay sauce).

I actually have no idea if I've lost weight or not as my weight varies so much throughout the day!

I had lamb too, had tummy ache most of the day yesterday, and hubby bought the joint before we decided to go on the diet, and went out of date yesterday so had to be eatern, did manage to resist potatoes, but not yorkshires and sprouts.

woke up this morning, no tummy ache, no toilet issues (tmi) and ready to stick at it again today...

I'm glad I'm not the only one have pancake issues! Think I'm going to stick with chocolate porridge though.

When i made the panckes they seemed really bitty and stuck to the pan you can add 2-3 droops of oil to the pan and i dnt know how you have made them but in the book it says

    1 1/2 tablespoon oat bran

    1 1/2 table spoon non-fat fromage frais

    1 egg whit

    1 tablespoon aspartame

mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour on to a non-stick pan that has been greased beforhand with a few drops of oil then wpied with kitchen paper. cook for 2-3 min on each side.

I stand corrected! I thought it was only pork that applied to by I am going by memory here. To be honest I think if it's a case of caving or going for a lean cut of lamb then the lamb is the better option. I must re-read my books before re-starting the diet in January.

Bran - girls we are meant to have Oat Bran instead of Wheat Bran. The idea is that oat bran not only sorts out tummy problems but also absorbs any fat etc & can reduce the amount of calories which you absorb from what you eat whereas wheat bran doesn't do this.

It dosnt but it dose say in the book that after a few days if you are having probs with poo's you can add a table spoon of wheat bran to help

Whatever you do, don't make the cookies! They come out tasting like baked omelette!!!!! Yuk! I've made baked egg custard and they smell beautiful! I'm just waiting for them to cool down so I can eat them! Has anyone made the bread yet? It's currently in the oven but doesn't look great! Ive also bought fat free no added sugar jelly - just to put with my vanilla yoghurt to make a better dessert - do you think that's allowed?!

I think I'm gonna come off it now and wait until after Christmas - there's too much temptation and yumminess about!!

tmr - no i didn't put swwetener in - I just follwed the Dukan recipe - I think that's what went wrong!
