Early or late person?

*Mini*, 5 November, 2011 at 19:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 31

Do you find it rude?

MrMinis Best Man and his GF are due roud tonight- we asked them to be here for 7- just a pizza, vino and tv evening but nonetheless we said 7.

Its 10 to 8.... dont know why we are suprised- he is ALWAYS late.

Whats worse is he told the kids he would bring some sparklers with him so they now want to stay up and see him and have the sparklers- J cant keep his eyes open but is adamant.

I am early for everything- never late- I just stresses me out- I was 20 mins early for my own wedding!

Are you an early or late person?

Early, I consider it to be rude to be late.

Early, though when I had twin babies I was nearly always late! Thankfully they are grown up now, but H2B seems to have taken over their role...he drives me nuts with his lateness....

On time. I dont like people being too early. For exampl,e I did a royal wedding party champagne breakfast- pastries, fruit platter for my bridesmaids and a few other friends etc and asked everyone to come round for 9.45am just in time for a bit of build up before the wedding. Mr C's sister and her little girl turned up at 8.30am waving their union jacks! I was just out the shower, floor was wet from mopping and my lovely spread was not set up!!Mr C was still in bed! Too early annoys me as much as too late! They are rude for being late though!

Almost always late! I'm rubbish at time keeping, it doesn't really bother me if people are late coming to me (unless its my boss!) I know things can occur to make you late. My best mate is worse than me; I know not to start cooking a meal til an hour after I tell her dinner is. Together we're a nightmare, we were getting ready for a night in the local town starting off with a party and fireworks.. Ended up being ready 2 hours late and had missed the fireworks so went to the cinema instead! I got 6 missed calls last tues at 9:45am as I was 25 mins late to go Xmas shopping. Hello, bit OTT, I was running late from work!!

I guess time doesn't matter so much to me, I'm always so bloody busy, I'll never be on time for everything.

I used to be early for everything but I'm ashamed to say that I'm getting worse. My H is late for EVERYTHING. I was amazed that he was on time for our wedding.

I finish work at 5pm, he has been known to pick me up at 6:30 ? If we ever go out anywhere I always tell him we have to be there half an hour earlier than we actually do and even then we are still late.

I get very stressed if I am running late but I do also think it's rude to turn up too early, I would usually just sit in the car for a bit if I was too early.

I am ashamed to admit that more often than not I am late. I don't mean to be and it's not that I don't value the time of the person/people I'm meeting, it's just that everything seems to take longer than I imagine it to. And one of my children will definitely, 100%, need the toilet just as I'm going out of the door. Luckily my Mum and rest of my family know this and are very understanding so when they're expecting me or I call to say I'm on my way they say "oh OK Jen" and go and pick up the newspaper or something knowing something will always delay me!

are you my twin? I could have typed that reply. H drives me nuts so I always tell him I'm going out a half hour before I am so he is home bang on the time I am running out of the door.

I'm usually just about on time but have a massive panic and stress to get there. My parents were nearly always late for everything and it made me really paranoid about timing as I grew up (all my nightmares are about me being late for something and having little things that keep coming up and delaying me even more). OH is an absolute faff monster and is usually late. Trying to get him up and to go anywhere is incredibly difficult - he always says "Oh, we don't need to get up that early, half an hour later will be fine" and then takes forever in the shower, takes 15 mins to make a cup of tea, and wonders why I'm on the verge of exploding by the time we get out the door.

I am always early. OH is always late. It can cause problems. Usually I just tell him we have to be at X 20 minutes sooner than we actually do.

I find being late very rude. Having said that we were due to go to see our neighbour yesterday at 'about 12ish', and he turned up at 11.45 to our house instead! So now I find being too early rude as well. I think I am far too anal about these things.

Thankfully my friends and family aren't quite so narrow-minded and understand that not everything revolves around them. They know the kids come first; the reason I have so much work and people wanting me to work for them is that I'm reliable and can help them at such short notice. My friend was going to stop off and see me on her jogging route last week.. I ended up being 2.5 hours late from work with no warning, she understood.. Didn't think I was rude or that I thought her time was unimportant.

Although we were all late for Mrs C's party, whoops! ?

I am early for everything! I hate lateness, i do think it is rude and I think that it is often unavoidable with proper planning, and if its not, then call and let the person know.

My Brother is late for everything, my auntie is just as bad if not worse. It drives me mad.

He was due to pick MrMini up at 3.30 today to go snowboarding...he arrived at 4.10!

Occasional lateness is unavoidable- he is a serial late arriver!
