I'm due for an upgrade on the 4th October but O2 won't let me :0( Is it possible to actually get an early upgrade?

Hate to say it because their adverts are just so annoying, but phones 4 u will most likely be able to buy you out and you will get an upgrade.

Phones 4 U just told me that i would have to pay myself as I want an iPhone.

Try in store, if they need sales they can be alot more accommodating.

Ring and ask to speak to the escalations team and tell them that you're going to leave unless they give you an early upgrade. Mr Figs got a free Samsung Galaxy S3 out of O2 last month. You just have to be insistent tht you'll leave unless they do something for you.

tried this on various occasions, and nothing
tbh, o2 have seriously gone down in my estimations over the last couple years so am glad to be moving!

Tried that with O2 for the last few upgrades and nada... nicht... nil.

When Mr Figs gets on one he doesn't back down easily and refused to take no for an answer! He def got his for free and early. He didn't get very far with customer services, it was the escalations team that caved in and gave him what he wanted.

This is also key... if you want an iphone you will get nowt for free... hardware is too expensive.
Plus O2 will no longer give me unlimited internet.

OH nagged and nagged and nagged T-mobile to get an early upgrade and they caved but wouldn't give us both iPhones, I wanted a BB anyway but he had to phone them constantly and threaten to leave.

Trickers, if you are after a new iphone it may be worth holding on, as the new iphone5 comes out about Sept time apparently.

I did this and the escalations team just said 'Ok see ya' after 12 years or more of being a customer!
I am with Orange and they let me buy out my contract and get a new iphone contract. I always assumed all companies did this. The man in the Orange shop told me that carphone warehouse/phones 4u type places do it for all phones inc iphones.

Ahh iPhones always seem to have their own rules. Theres a new one coming out soon so if you hold out till the end of your contract you could get that.

I think all the networks are just as bad as each other. I've been on T Mobile for years and tried to upgrade recently. I was told the phone I wanted (HTC One X) was more expensive if I upgraded than if I ended my previous contract and started a new one as a new customer. Where's the logic in that?
