I am a noon bride too! We worked out roughly that by the time we get to the venue after the church and done photos etc we wont sit down to eat till about 3. Evening starts at 7 but we are hoping for nice weather and we bought some lawn games (eg big jenga).

What time of year do you get married and is there any outside space at your venue?

if the weather is nice, people will prob just have a few drinks and a chat outside. you could get some large garden games like chess etc, not everyones cup of tea but it gets people involved and will take their attention away from the clock.

How about a 'how well do you know the bride and groom' quiz? prizes for winners, could take time up after the meal!

Are you having a church or civil ceremony?

Mine's a church wedding at 12.30pm but I figured by the time we've had the ceremony, photos, travelled to the venue, done some mingling and more photos, dinner will be about 3.30, speeches at 5.30, evening guests from 6.30, disco from 8.00, buffet from 9.30...

But that is 10 months away so may all still change!!!

We're noon too and expecting a 2 hour gap after the meal although the meal/speeches will probably overrun, they usually do. We've recently booked a magician but will also use this time to let guests check into their rooms, walk round the grounds, have a drink in the bar. They'll find a way to entertain themselves.

nothing...you and your OH mingle and chat to ppl! everyone will enjoy themselves and get talking to people they havent seen in a while!! you could get a harpist, or a string quartet if you wanted, or make up a cd of all your songs to be played as background music.

I'm getting married at noon too in september. Our ceremony is an hours drive from reception and by the time we have photos and speeches and wedding breakfast hopefully it will be time for the evening guests. Plus it's a nice time to chat to the guests x

My wedding is at 12.30, but by the time that finishes and you have said hello to everybody it'll be 1.30ish, then once we have got to the venue, had pics and stuff thats gotta be nearly 2.45 and then we're sitting down at 3. Then once we have eaten, speaches done etc it'll be 6ish. Then the evening starts at 7.30....gives people a chance to freshen up, have a lie down and stuff.

its normal so i really wouldnt worry
