Earphones/headphones - anyone else have problems

Headless Lois, 5 January, 2009 at 19:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I want headphones for running. I can't wear the little ones that just fit in your ear, they fall out. H bought me some that sort of wrap around your ear - they fit him fine, but they are massive on my ears and won't stay in place. Does anyone else have this trouble?

Yes me ! I have tiny ears and cannot get any type of small earphones to stay in/on my ears. the only things that work properly are those big ear muff/noise defender style ones - or the really old fashioned foam covered ones you used tog et with walkmans - not much good for running though !

I have tried the little in ear type, another marshmallow squidgy type that are meant to fit any ear, over the ear hook types etc

Dont know what to suggest but if you find something do post and let me know.

I bought some Sony in-ear ones which came with 3 different size of ear buds because I can't normally wear them as they are too big and so don't fit in my ear properly and just fall out. This ones are great and really comfortable.

    I want some of these

Not sure how much they cost but it must be worth it for earphones that actually stay in your ears for a start and don't hurt after 5 minutes if you do manage to cram them in

Try the Sennheiser OMX range - they are adjustable.

I will look into what Sony do - those custom made ones must surely cost an absolute fortune!

BGB I had just found the sennheiser ones. I am a bit put off by the shape, as the top bit is similar to the sony ones H bought me, and the bit which is meant to sit in your ear sits too low due to the size of the top part on those, if that makes sense.

I have tiny ears too and I use sony ones with interchangeable earbuds which my fiance bought for me.

I find them quite good and use them in the gym all the time, although I find they're louder than usual earphones cos they actually fit in my ear and I have to turn my music down quite low!

My friend has this problem and got 'ear buds'. They fit in your ears but are mouldable plastic so they 'fill' your ears and stay in really well.

I have this problem too. The ones that go inside your ear always cause pain after a few minutes, or fall our, and the ones that fit behind the ear just don't get the right position for me at all.

I have been really disappointed when I've travelled by plane recently because the airline I normally use has changed their headsets for the behind-ear type, s I can't hear the music/film properly and it also doesn't block out the general plane noise. Last time I tried to kind of wrap the elastic of my eye mask around my head at ear level to hold the earphones in place. What a sight I must've been ?" />

Sorry, not much help to you there! But I will take a look at the suggestions on here too, thanks

    Another one with small ears.

I find the earpiece for my work radio really uncomfortable and only ever use it when I have to be confidential for any reason.
