Clarabella its a local company called placed to perfection. We did look at a few before deciding on the one we have chosen.

Katielou...WOW congratulations on the weight loss! I joined slimming world in September and have lost 1 stone, but seem to be struggling now! Need at least another stone off tho, to get into my dress!! x

    4 stone :o!

how to make me feel bad Smiley smile When I ordered my dress I didn't want to order it in a size below as much as I'd want to be that size again I didnt want the stress of thinking "sh*t my dress is in and I cant fit into it"

The printer dropped off a proof of the invites last night and they look great Smiley smile So thats a tick Smiley smile

They made me order the size I was when i tried on the dress - despite me saying I would lose weight. To quote the lady in the shop "if i had a pound for every girl thats said that" - Well that was incentive enough.. Alfred angelo sent a size smaller than I ordered by mistake but she still has a lot to take in! Smiley laugh hehe

Woooo glad your invites are done and dusted Shells, now its the hard bit - getting them sent out! I started the other night and got bored half way through haha! x

I think with the run up to Christmas they may get forgotton about so I think we are going to post/drop off in the week between xmas and new year Smiley smile

After my mum has wrote peoples names on them though Smiley smile

I'm getting worried about the weather though now. I'd hoped it would have snowed by now so we would be on track to a sunny April!

I'm praying it doesn't snow in April, we're doing a budget wedding as my partner became ill and is no longer working, we decided if we waited until we could afford a big wedding we would never get married, so the ceremony is in the local registery office and the reception is going to be held in a marquee in our garden!! we're doing a sweet buffet for the kids (lol like the adults wont attack it too!) i'm frantically making bunting and a very kind lady on freecycle has given me table cloths and beautiful t-light holders to hang from the trees. we've planted a ton of bulbs.

I have my nans wedding ring, my dress is being made (my one indulgence, i chose an evening dress and although the one i fell in love with didnt come in white or ivory, it did come in a pale gold. so thats what i'm having) Our invitations are sent, there will probably only be about 35 people so we're doing the catering ourselves. The bridesmaids dresses will be got in January, we're hiring the suits for my partner and son. I still haven't worked out the entertainment. might not be everyones ideal wedding but i'm having so much fun organising it.....less formal than a big wedding so far less stressful, and i do enjoy hunting for a bargain!!

It sounds great! I've also got pots of bulbs planted up on the off-chance they flower at the right time and I'm in a gold dress, so you are among friends here :-)

On a random note, I ordered a long range weather forecast for April 2012 and according to the £5 I spent, assuming historical data is anything to go on, we are going to have a lovely dry Easter weekend. 85% accuracy apparently...

(PS i know how ridiculous this sounds, but still...)

We decided the thing that mattered most wasn't how much money we spent, but having fun with friends. My friends husband is driving me to the registery office, i have friends coming up to Wales from Berkshire, i see them so rarely i can't wait. my family are comming from Kent and we're defenatly doing it in our own unique way........hooray for gold dresses!!

is anyone else doing a budget wedding?

Hello! I'm getting married good Friday, starting planning bout two years ago but still have loads to do! Still need bridesmaids dresses (eeeeek!!) we had a suit made for my h2b and the back of the waistcoat is a purple which am now struggling to match to anything in shops! Also need flowers, rings, make up lady, shoes.... List goes on! We are having orange and purple as a theme, the orange is going to be from the orange lilies in bridesmaid bouquet Smiley smile I would like an Easter egg hunt don't know where to start organising that! We are having mini hot cross buns and tea as our canapés lol, was going to go all put Easter but decided against it as colours were too pastel and wanted a rich purple!

Have people got their dresses yet? I ordered mine from bridal shop at end of April 2011 still not got it yet, I am starting to panic ring the bridal shop every week they can't give me any more answers! I feel like I can't get shoes, make up or hair ideas until I get it!

In regards to the weather, last year my cousin got married on 2nd April and it was so warm and sunny, perfect day so fingers crossed!

I have booked, bought or completed: venue, celebrant, hog roast, band, dress, headpieces, flower girl outfits

I have identified but not booked / finalised: florist, hair and make-up, cake, hotel accomodation, furniture/marquee

I haven't a clue about: rings, grooms attire, honeymoon, cars, venue decor

So, in summary, woefully behind ?

Now that Christmas is out of the way, and I've barked at OH for not doing anything he's been a lot more helpful so going to enjoy a few chilled out days over Christmas then get back to wedding planning in the new year!

Got to go through all the jars everyone has been collecting for us to make our mini egg jars for the tables and stick the gingham material on them. And make our seeded paper placecards ( which I plan on doing whilst we are off)

My mum has beautiful handwriting so going to get her to write our invites too whilst we are off and then they can be ready to be posted in the New year Smiley smile

    So exciting Smiley smile

I've been collecting Dowe Egberts jars for mini-eggs, but was going to have them scattered about the venue rather than on tables. Have you found any good prices for bulk mini-egg purchases?

Also, how on earth do you make seeded paper placecards? They sound ace!

I can't believe it's nearly the new year and we'll have to start doing all the things I keep saying 'we'll worry about that in the new year'! Seeded paper placecards sound amazing! Our project over Christmas has been invitations which are now all made and ready to go - just need to check which stamps they need and then send them out next week - am very proud of them so looking forward to other people seeing them! And now can start thinking about other stationery like name cards etc.

Top of the list for the new year are: sort some shoes (picking my dress up tomorrow -eeeeeeeek!! - so need to get some before I start having it altered), get groomsmen to go and get measured, honeymoon (no idea about this at all), and what is actually going to happen in the ceremony around the important bit (no clue about this either).

What is everyone else focusing on? What sort of bm dresses are you looking for J&M?

    Happy new year (nearly!)

We decided to go for a mix match of jars and just scatter them on tables and all around the venue Smiley smile

To be honest I havent looked too much for mini eggs yet but they were coming in about £15 for 3kg - havent a clue how many im going to need yet though Smiley smile How about you? does that price seem right or have you found something way cheaper? My friend is a memeber of Costco too so might try there in the new year!

The seeded paper was something which I saw online, although not overly expensive I thought it would be better if we could make our own so we can pick seeds which people can go home and plant straight away and luckily we have got flowers like "love in the mist" which sound very romantic Smiley smile I do quite a few crafty bits so know how to make paper so im going to chuck in some seeds Smiley smile

    Rough guide to making paper:

    get shredded paper
    add to blender
    pour in some lukewarm water
    blend until it becomes pulpy
pour into bowl big enough for your old net curtain tied around a frame
    add seeds
    stir up
put in net curtain move around so its even covering
pull out of the pulpy water
put on a tea towel and carefully squeeze water out
put somewhere to dry (although im concerned i dont want to put the seeded paper somewhere too warm other wise they will start sprouting LOL Smiley smile

They when they are dry (or wet) need to work out which is easier, chop into love heart shapes and put in a hole for the ribbon ready to tie Smiley smile ( will post a piccy if it works!)

I saw some online for £16 for 3kg, which is about 800 eggs. One of us needs to bite the bullet though and see how many jars that fills!

Nigella (Love in a mist) is lovely - I have it all over my garden and it seeds very easily, so it's perfect for your paper. It also self-seeds, so if your guests sow it and let them run to seed, they will have flowers year after year.

i was thinking about taking some tiny plastic pots, spraying them gold, then putting a seedling in each one to take home. My MIL thinks it's a lot of work, but we're quite keen on gardening, so I was thinking that could be a theme...

Well I think im quite on target.....OH was quick to remind me that on new years day, it will be 99 days until we get married!

Our invites went out a few weeks since, and we have got over half back already!

We had a weekend away in York for the OH birthday at the beginning of December to chose rings ( we got engaged there 2 years since) and ordered both so they will be with us in the new year!

OH, BM and 2 ushers have got suit fitting on 7th January, so hopefully that will be sorted then! Im on with making the table numbers, name cards, postbox and guestbook, so got everything I need apart from time!

Venue is booked and paid for. Got my dress, ordered shoes, booked photographer, ordered flowers, and venue decoration.

Were having egg cups filled with mini eggs dotted around the venue, just to keep the easter theme!

Bridesmaid dresses....hmmmm well i have 4 bridesmaids...2 adults and my 2 nieces who are 12 and 10. Our colours are pink and silver. Was thinking of having the 2 older ones in silver/platinum, but want shorter dresses, like these http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/657206/226867

and have no idea for the younger ones!!!!

When are you all having your final dress fittings? Should we have a weekly weigh in?

I have just ordered Jillian Michaels 30 day shred from Amazon as a bit of a last ditched attempt to tone up and lose the bingo wings. I figure I have about 30 days before my fitting so how hard can it be to work a miracle in that time?!

Well I thought that my dress fittings started mid/end of feb but actually its the 4th feb - arrrrgh! My dress is too big for me anyway so I know it will be ok but I just want it to be tiny and perfect lol!

    Yes! Weekly weigh-ins!

I have not heard of that - is it any good? I got zumba on DVD so I am attempting that as well as the diet urrrgh!

On a side note - I know its super early but I am very excited about seeing easter eggs in the shops lol! Not.helping.the.diet! Smiley laugh

Shells, do you mind if I have a go at this too? It really fits in with my nature/gardening theme and i think my two little girls would have fun making them. I'm assuming we can add a bit of food colouring to the pulp to make it different colours? Maybe even some glitter...? my girls love sparkles!

I have no idea if it's any good, but there is another thread floating about where the girls are doing it and really rate it. It's only 20 minutes a session, so nothing ventured etc etc

Not at all - you don't have to ask Smiley smile

When I looked online they advised to use a very small amount of coloured paper in with the pulp which should change the colour but if you have time to experiement Smiley smile
