Wow Sarah your invites look gorgeous! My dress is finally in yay! Trying it on next weekend booked hire suits today and had appointment with florist get quote next week! Eeeek it's getting really exciting now! Still lots to do though i keep having nightmares I've forgotten something really major!
Right girls, time for a status update from us all, methinks:
Just done: florist, caterer, furniture, booked dress fitting (March 6th)
Next on my list: grooms wear, booze, giving notice, chase RSVPs, crafty bits, buy my underwear and diet!
I've managed to lose 5lbs since Christmas, with another 5 to go to be happy and 9 to be ecstatic.
I've had about 80% of RSVPs back, with a bit of a mixed bag. All of OH's dad's side of the family have said no, which is a shame. His mum is livid, but OH isn't bothered thankfully.
Everything done, apart from makeup and hair trial, which is booked for next week! Sit back and relax now until 2 weeks before the wedding when we need to go for final fittings/alterations.
I get married on Easter Sunday! Have got most things sorted, just need to get confirmation back from the singing waiters, and pick our wedding rings up at the weekend
Wow JnM that is hugely impressive! I am jealous! Tho haven't reached panic mode yet so hopefully ok.
Wedding wise, most big decisions made, lots of little things left to do though, like bm dress fittings, suit measuring, favour making, all table stationery making, present buying, gift list choosing, stuff for children sorting, meetings with florist and venue....the list goes on!
What is more worrying is that for some reason we have decided it's a good idea to have a BBQ at our house the next day for about 60 people because it's OH 30th that weekend too. Which I love the idea of because it means the celebrations last longer, but it means about a million more things to organise!!
Me and my little girls had great fun making seeded paper yesterday and now have 8 and a half sheets of green paper, which might do me say 40 leaves. Trouble is, the stuff isn't dry yet and i'm worried it's going to make the seeds germinate.
Hi everyone just came accross this thread i am an easter saturday bride as well ?
So good to read how everyone else has been getting on. We have all the major things sorted. At the moment just trying to order the flowers from ebay, they only take a few weeks to be delievered.
Need to get my underwear shoes and other bits not sure if im having a tiara or what yet lol where abouts are you ladies getting underwear and shoes from, underwear i need something to push me up a bit as i have a strapless dress ? and shoes nothing too high lol falling down would not be a good look.
Then just need to sort out my kids shoes, they are our flower girl and pageboy. Also need to book my hair and make up which im getting prices for and find somewhere to get my nails done.
table decor is all sorted favours i have got just need to make up so actually i sound quite organised think im missing loads of bits though. Need to find something to wear out on my hen weekend on 18th feb. oh has his stag this weekend.
can't believe we have a bit over 10 weeks to go!!!! eeekkkkk
To dry ours out we put them on a folded towel on the radiator and they dry overnight I wouldnt worry too much about them germinating - I had the same worry but a friend who is a gardener said it would be unlikey Think you need to flash your hard work
My mum has pulled her face about our seeded hearts saying they will be too hard to write one so im in two minds whether we are even going to use ours now
Welcome you seem to be organised - hopefully i should get my college work finished by Weds then after handing it in next Mon I can really get stuck into the wedding!!
Can't belive how quickly the time has gone though!!! EEP
I put mine in front of the fire last night and they dried out quite nicely. That said they do seem a bit "delicate" and crumbly, so I am also wondering whether they are entirely practical. I'm not planning on writing on mine, but they do need to survive being tied to a napkin with a bit of twine and then stacked in a basket. Ho hum...
Just had my quote through from florist and for 7 centrepieces (we have bought the candleabras so it is just literally flowers), top table, 4 bridesmaids, bride bouquet and 5 ladies corsages and 4 men its coming to almost 700 quid! is this steep? im unsure!!
Wow you are getting a lot for your money! my bouquet i wanted orchids but that is only going to be 70 quid which i didnt think was too bad, i think its the table centrepeices that are working out pricey as it will be a ball about 8 inches in diameter and to fill with flowers works out bout 40 quid each, on top of the money we have already spent on candleabras i think thats a bit too much, going to get another quote from someone today but this original lady was a family friend so thought she would be cheaper! she doesnt really get what i want though and finding it frustrating and worried!
I'm south east so ? from other side of the country lol! Yeah she doesn't get what I want, when I produced a few magazine cut outs she just said I reminded her of Monica from friends and showed me her portfolio of flowers which were nothing like I wanted! I don't want to offend my cousin by not having her but I'll be so gutted if not right! (ok very Monica like I know!) going to see a florist near where we live that I love tomorrow, ciarabella that is really good price I love spring flowers I will definitely mention them to new florist!
I meet with our florist on Saturday gone and ours will be £350. This will be for my flowers, three bridesmaids, five men (the grooms button hole will be much bigger) and for flowers on our cake - two tiers and the top. I`m also going to ask for 4 small mini-button holes for the ladies instead of corsages as this wont suit everyone.
I`m hoping to do tables myself but havent decided yet! Have decided on seeds for favours which is pretty popular for us Easter ladies but I think with the time of year is an apportunity that cant be missed!!
Got my shoes too - its taken ages but I love love love them!!
Only thing - my dress needs taking up - i`m booked in for first fitting next sat but they say it`ll be fine for time as its being taken up not in.. fingers crossed!! xx
I've booked a florist based in Reading in Berkshire if that's any use? We're paying approx £700 for 5 bouquets, 8 buttonholes, 3 corsages, cake flowers and 10 (massive) table centres and all the table decorations (it's these that's pushing the price up, the rest would only be about £240)
I think its my centrepieces that are pushing the quote up too! went to another florist yesterday so can compare quotes when she gets back to me. Im essex, thanks though price also includes set up and delivery as have fiddley candleabras and cant get to venue day before or get ready there to do in morning.
going to see my dress today for first time! eeek! hope it doesnt need to much altering! still waiting for 20 people to get back to me for day rsvps and only heard back from three in evening! they got until 6th feb though!
This is me too! Don't usually have too much of a problem with my skin but I think the combination of more exercise, cold weather and stress is taking its toll and this is stressing me further! hoping it warms up a bit before April. Does seem that the more products I put on the worse it gets so am trying not to change too much.
It's my birthday on March 1st (turning 40! eek!) and it often snows up to my birthday, but never after. March 1st is always the turning point for the weather, so don't worry!
Me an dOH went to johnLewis on Sat and picked our wedding list ( topped by free coffee and cake ) Booked an appointment with our venue to confirm numbers, ( I think) taste the food and make the final payment
Went for my first dress fitting - i still love the dress but it doesnt fit properly yet so i look all frumpy
Hair and makeup trial was last week and I'm happy with that!
