Ebay Dress problem

Yewks, 18 February, 2010 at 17:55 Posted on Planning 0 17

Hi sorry if this isnt in the right place its the first time ive posted here. Im getting married next year abroad on a very tight budget of £4000, this leaves me very little for my dress. I have seen a few which are an amazing price of around £100 the only problem is they are from China and off Ebay. Has anyone ordered their dress from Ebay or simular sites before and would you advise it?

Thank you

    Hi Yewks

A few girls have bought dresses from China on Ebay and had mixed results - some have been great, others not so good. I believe geordie_barbie got hers from landy bridal and it's gorgeous and a great fit, but I'm sure she'll be on to tell you about it...

Hi i bought my dress from ebay, china and all id say is read the feedback of the seller very carefully and check their score this should give you some idea what to expect, go with the made to measure option rather than pick a set size and expect the need for alterations.

i bought my dress for 89 and allow its slighty too big at the top the quality and dress are just as good as any in the shops and it only took 3 weeks to arrive.

Hello!! Yep, I got mine from Landy Bridal and ❤️ it.

    Here's the pics...

Good luck if you decide to go down that route - hope you're as lucky as me!

I got mine from ebay for £89 including postage. Got it a month after i ordered and it fits almost perfectly! There are lots of different sellers on ebay though so i would take the above advice and check the feedback before ordering which is what i did!

    Good Luck!

Oh, also if you do order off ebay - check the price of the dress as my seller had listed my dress twice at two different prices with no different information!!

Landy Bridal have an Ebay site as well as proper website. They're on Ebay as "asapbay".

Not sure who you asked about but since i've not said i'll answer.

Mine was about £165 total including shipping and VAT. I paid for the speedier delivery service. It left China at 9.30pm on the Friday night and the first delivery attempt to me was 1.30pm on Tuesday! I managed to pick it up from the depot that night so had it by 7.00pm.

Hi - I've heard alot of people buying them from China, and most people have had no problems. Only thing I would say is to check the amount of positive feedback and you could maybe email a couple of buyers asking them for their opinions. There seems to be a few people on here that have bought from China so I would say go for it!! x

Mine was from landbridal.com though still from China. The fabric is fab and it's beautifully made. TBH - some of the dresses I tried on with a hefty price tag I didn't think were justified. A family friend, who is a bit of a seamstress and is doing my alterations, reckoned the material was at least £10 per metre and that there was a good 6 metres in my dress. She was very impressed too.

Hi I am also a Landy-lover! I did my research beforehand and heard loads of positive feedback about them. My dress came in about 5 weeks, and was all I'd hoped for. It was slightly too big, so I'm getting a dressmaker to take it in and up a little, but it's only costing me £45 on top of the £140 I paid for it! Bargain.

thanks for that geordiebride...that really helps and i agree the prices in the bridal shops do not justify the dress so to speak!! i will keep landbridal in my favorites for when i loose some more weight!!
