Ebay help please- Buyer says only 1 item received instead of 2?

loopyloo, 16 September, 2008 at 17:43 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Hi

I sold an 2 items to a buyer on Sunday. The identical items. Posted in one envelope.

Im pretty sure I sent the two of them, but have had an email today to say that envelope only contained 1.

Do i need to send another one? Buyer has excellent feedback, but im certain there were two items in the envelope.

Only way i thought i could prove it, was by weighing another identical package with the 2 items in it, see if the weight is the same as my post office receipt?

    Hi

Some people will try this on to get another one. I would email the person and say you have weighed an identical package and according to the receipt it states that is the weight that was sent. Paypal would also accept this as proof if they decide to open a dispute.

Did they pay 2 lots of postage or did you combine? Also iS IT POSSible that the package may have been damaged and 1 item fell out?

Defo dont think that the package could have been damaged and one fell out.

I charged the two lots of postage. This came to £3 total, item cost £1.45 to post plus £0.65p for envelope, so £2.10 total.

I am going weigh an identical parcel before replying I think.

    Hi loopyloo,

Although you are sure you sent two, unfortunately they didn't receive two so if they did open a paypal dispute then it would be found in their favour as you can't prove that they didn't receive two. You will need to either send a replacement or refund them for the item they didn't receive. Hopefully it was a low cost item.
