e-bay wwyd?

Mrs_M_2b, 17 December, 2011 at 19:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I ordered a gorgeous dress for my daughter from an e-bay shop. I recieved the dress today to discover its from George and the label inside the dress had been cut off, however the sticker attatched to the socks were still on which stated George on them. The item is brand new and never been worn but i'm not to happy that the label has been cut off and the dress is from George when i thought i was buying from a baby store. Can i add i don't have a problem with George i buy from there myself i'm just not happy that the dress has been bought from there and the labels been cut,

Am i over reacting and wwyd?

New with no tags. It never said anything about the labels being cut off the inside of the dress

Some stores ell old stock, excess stock and damaged stock to ebay sellers and part of the deal is that the labels are cut out of the items so that people dont return the item to the store directly for full price refunds rather than going back to the ebay store.

Personally think you are over reacting a bit, as long as the item is new and unworn I really don't see a problem.

I think I'd only be miffed if I'd paid more for it on eBay than if I had bought it in Asda.

If it wasn't listed as another brand (ie it's not like they are trying to pass it off as something its not) then I wouldn't worry too much so long as you don't feel you paid way over the odds for it. Guess you may just choose not to use that seller again.

WSS I used to work for a High Street store and our old excess stock was sold and could be bought at local markets as long as the label was cut out for the above reason. I would only have a problem if they claimed it was another brand when it clearly isn't.

    Do you like the dress?

WSS. Most eBay listings for new clothes do state that the store tags have been removed to prevent returns.
