Eeeek! 10 days to go - how are my date twins doing?

judeclarke, 12 October, 2011 at 10:33 Posted on Planning 0 8

There's a week and a half left - the nerves are starting to kick in now, but I haven't got much left to do.

I am very glad we decided to do our own stationery, I have to reprint our programs due to change or two and redo part of our table plan too, but otherwise we're just about there with all that.

I have my outfit, OH is fixed for all his extras, I still have to pick up waiscoats for the boys once they are finished, but they've had their final fitting. BM's dress is now hanging in my Mum's wardrobe (hurrah!) but my BM has decided she HAS to have a tiara (getting that prima donna vibe from her right now!) so we have to find one for her.

I think I have a plan for my make-up, I've done a few trials over the last couple of weeks and have found the perfect lipstick. I have planned appropriate times in for things like hair colouring, bleaching/waxing other bits, facial & spa treatments.

The day before we will have to take our various stuff to the venue, the centrepieces need assembling on site and the co-ordinator needs showing how to make them work. Then we'll have to take a trip to Bluewater for doughnuts - I think 5 dozen should do - and empty our fridge to make room for them overnight.

OH is still tinkering with music. We are using the ipod system so OH is running all the tracks together with fade in and out on the tracks so we don't get gaps (like night-time radio) but he's almost done.

OH spoke to registrar regarding a change to who is doing readings, it's not a problem as they will confirm with us on the day anyway, but they have approved our (unusual) music choices.

I think we're almost there! How are you girls doing?

    Hi Jude,

Things are going well (I think!!) .. like you most things are sorted and it is just the final bits and pieces .. can't believe it is only 10 more sleeps!!!

Beauty - Hair trial this afternoon along with a cut and colour and waxing and nails next week

Final bits - fill the confetti cones, assemble kids activity bags, buy a couple of presents and bake some cakes for the day after (we are having people over for drinks and cakes the day after the wedding).

Good Luck with all you final preparations!

    Hey Jude and Alocin.

Well my nerves are starting to kick in too. The walk to the train station this morning made me take a few short sharp breaths thinking that it won't be long now.

All sorted with table plan finished that at the weekend. I'm not bothered if people don't turn up I won't be changing the table plan.

I just have to fill my favour bags and waiting for my Groom, BM, Best Man etc cards which should be here this weekend and I can write that cards and package them up with the presents (we're giving these out before the wedding)

Have my final dress fitting this evening as well so hopefully it fits ok. I seem to have put on a few pounds in the last 4 weeks (2 hen weekends didn't help!)

D'oh! Another thing I have yet to do - I have bought photo frames for relevant people, I have to wrap them and get cards.

I feel like we still have quite a bit to do. Need to print and assemble the table plans, table numbers, place cards and favours. Finish the sweet buffet labels, have the final suit fittings and collect them.

Picking my dress up on Saturday. Also need to buy a fruit cake and a pen for the signing frame. Need to speak to the make up artist and check she's ok to do the bridesmaids aswell. Got to drop my hair extensions off to the hairdresser to prep.

See so much to do! Am so busy at work at the mo and don't finish until Weds next week. Thurs I'm having nails done, eyebrows shaped and a pedicure. Friday we are setting up the venue.

Oh, and I must honeymoon pack as we leave on the 23rd!

    Aargh!

Is anyone else slightly obsessed with the weather forecast? Yesterday it said overcast, today it says rain :-(. Oh well, they'll change thier mind again no doubt. And we do have contingency plans for wet anyway.

Eeeek - single digits now girls!!!

I too am slightly obsessed by the weather forecast - currently looking like 10 degrees and sunny for me ... however we have planned everything on the assumption it will rain ... so anything else will be a bonus!!

Had my hair trial last night, which I am really pleased with too!

The weather is about the only thing you can't order in advance or control - I guess I'll have a to appoint a brolly-man or two to meet us at the venue and form a line to the front door so we don't get damp. A brolly guard of honour!
