OMD, the same thing happened to me.

On my way to work one morning and found an old man lying in the street. He was wheezing and he said "you gotta help me love, I can't breathe, my chest feels tight" so I called an ambulance immediately. Kept an eye on him and after about 10 mins a Rapid Response unit arrived, the driver got out and said "Come on Ralph, let's get you home!" ?

The Paramedic said that he does it regularly, gets drunk and then gets a passer by to call an ambulance so he can get a lift home!

I was absolutely shocked! Missed my train to work and was late for the pleasure...What a LIBERTY!!!

I've phoned the police twice, both times for getting my windows smashed.

Ambulance when my eldest son was about 3 months old. He'd only been home a week (after spending 12 weeks in hospital due to being born 13 weeks prem), and he stopped breathing everytime he fed. He was given oxygen and admitted to hospital. The paramedic who came out, was the same one who came out when I went into premature labour too. He was chuffed to see the "end result" as he put it...

    I've phoned the police twice.

The first time was when I was attacked when I was pregnant by someone who had a grudge against me since school. Was useless phoning them though as they wouldn't do anything as I had no marks.

The second time was when my friend was hit in the face by her ex, after he turned up at my home to see her when they split up. He said that he wanted to see their son and when she bought him to the door (he was less than a a year) he hit her grabbed their son and ran. I phoned the police and when they arrived they were brilliant. As he didn't have socks on and it was cold, they did a shout out saying that a baby had been stolen by his dad and he wasn't dressed properly for a cold winter night. He ended up at his mums, where he phoned the police and 'handed himself in'.

Attacking someone when pregnant is disgusting. I can't believe some people would stoop so low. Re OP: I've never called the emergency services; never had the need.

I found out from a mutual friend that it was because she was jealous that I was pregnant as she'd already had three abortions...

I've called ambulances a few times at work, but don't suppose that counts!

Outside work I've never had to make a 999 call, although my friend did when she and I were assaulted (I was unconcious at the time) and also my mum had to call for an ambulance for me when I had meningitus.

Ambulance - Yes, when Granddad collapsed with a stroke while washing the dishes

    Fire - Nope

Police - Yep, there was a very drunk and abusive man sat on our doorstep late one night when we returned home from a meal out. He refused to accept it was our house, refused to move and started to square up to OH, threatening and waving a beer bottle. It was a bit scary, and it's made us more determined to move away from this area.
