tulleprincess, 30 November, 2012 at 11:08 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hello Ladies,

we are booked in for our engagement shoot in a few weeks. We got engaged at Christmas last year so thought it would be the perfect time of year Smiley smile

BUT its going to be FREEZING but I want to look nice and not like mr blobby wrapped in loads of layers!

Does any one have any suggestions what to wear? or any pics to share? thanks Smiley smile Smiley heart

We did ours around this time of year too. I wore a black coat, coloured scarf with a dennim skirt, thick tights and boots. I wanted quite a casual feel as a contrast to all of the formal "dressed up" shots from the wedding. But I know that some people like to dress up lots for the engagement shoots so if that's what you want to do then you could try adding some sparkly earrings and a nice scarf and make-up - think a coat is going to be a necessity I'm afraid!

We had ours in January this year but I must admit it wasn't as cold as this! I wore woolly tights, boots and a thick cardi.

Have pics but can't seem to add them at work - will try and remember to tonight.

We had ours a few weeks ago and I wore tights, a sleeveless dress and wedged boots...I took my coat off for the photo shoot (brave!), but like Kharv said, it wasn't as cold as this!

We also had some pictures taken with us wearing novelty Christmas jumpers, as we thought this would be funny for our guests (as we are having a pic from this shoot as a large canvas for people to sign on the day...which is next Saturday)...unfortunately, I was laughing so much, I looked like a beast in most of them, so opted for one of the "nicer ones"!

    Hiya

Make sure you'll be comfortable in what you're wearing - so I'd either wear a thick cardi or a coat, and go for something quite tailored so it's nice and flattering and not mr blobby like! Smiley smile

Maybe you could wear a dress & boots underneath then if you're brave you could ditch the coat for a few shots?

I'd wear skinny jeans, boots, a nice thick jumper and a co-ordinating hat and scarf set. Warm and cute!

We had ours in October when it was just getting a bit chilly....

    Went for the "cosy look"

If you don't want to go the skirt and tights root, then what about skinny jeans and boots? I don't think you'll look blobby if you have a tailored coat you could wear.

(Edit: meant blobby not bloody... stupid Friday fingers!)

I can't share my pics but we had ours in November and I wore skinny jeans, boots, the jumper below and cosy jacket. It meant I was warm enough for shots outside but still had a nice top for the ones taken indoors. It wasn't too cold when we had ours but if I was having it now I'd pick a really nice bright cosy scarf.

    Hi,

I have some cute and gorgeous fascinators, and a stunning red and black one called Strawberry with a birdcage veil. See what you think. I have other smaller ones and hairbands for a not so over the top look, or little vintage style pieces.
