Oh, I'd love to know that as well!!

I think I've read before somewhere that some people move it to the right hand ring finger for the ceremony?

I just wore it on my right hand. Transferred it back after the ceremony and photos.

Ah, would you not wear your wedding ring and engagement ring together for the photographs?

I think I'll be wearing it on my right hand then moving over once/as I'm leaving the church or maybe even just before signing the register - it's gonna be cleaned as close to the day as possible so it's gotta be in the pictures! Haha Smiley smile

I'll be wearing my wedding ring on top of my engagement ring, so i'm planning to leave it right where it is!

I wanted a photo of our hands in our rings to announce on facebook that we'd got married (which is now my avatar), so it didn't seem right to put my ER on top of my WR for that. I actually don't remember if I had it on for the tog pics. I don't think I was thinking about it!

I've read that traditionally you wear it on your right hand ring finger and transfer it to your left once the wedding band is in place, otherwise you have to remove the wedding band to remove the engagement ring! That's what I plan to do

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand until the exchanging of rings. I then put my engagement ring back onto my left hand after putting on the wedding ring, and it was in all the pictures.

Yeah as others have said, tradition is that you move it to the right hand. when you move it back seems to be a matter of preference. personally i moved it the next day. my engagement ring had, had 18 months in the spotlight and featured in many engagement shoot pics. my wedding ring was only going to get one day by itself before the big sparkler joined it and i wanted to showcase my wedding ring alone Smiley winking

Mine wouldn't fit on my right hand and i got my wedding ring and eternity ring at the same time (bridal set) so my bridesmaid wore it during the ceremony and i put it back on after so it was in the photos x =o)

I wore mine on my right hand for the ceremony then swapped it back.

I'm sure I read somewhere that some places don't let you leave your engagement ring on, your finger has to be bare.

I will be wearing my engagement ring on my right hand and swapping it back onto my ring finger after the ceremony. I had my wedding ring made to fit against my engagement ring, so the wedding ring will look off on its own.

I think I'm going to have to ask my bridesmaid to hold on to my engagement ring for me, it doesn't fit on my right hand.
Might have a few photos with my wedding ring on it's own first Smiley smile

I think i shall be putting my WR on top of my ER. a) to secure it in place and b) i find i like the idea of the rings going on in order and the WR "sealing the deal" so to speak

Check with your registrar or church.

I have been told that I cannot wear a ring on my wedding ring finger, so if I want to have my engagement ring with me it has to go on my other hand.

I'm going to wear my engagement ring on my right hand and after the wedding breakfast move it over. I want to wait until then because of having photo's and because I know people will want to see the the wedding ring when we do the receiving line and talking inbetween courses.
