Engagement shoot ideas?

MrsS29, 7 November, 2010 at 21:49 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi ladies ?

I've not been on in ages, hope you are all well and congrats to all the new OM's Smiley smile

My question... We're having our 'engagement shoot' (been engaged nearly 2 years but its a free shoot we get with our photographer) and im just looking for ideas of things we can do to make it interesting?!

We're having a shabby chic theme to our wedding so we want to kinda carry this on in our pics as we're also going to use the pics for our STD's and Invites!

I seen these pictures (i think they may be a hitchers pics - i apologise if i've stolen them) and i absolutely adore the style..

Obviously because its going to be in November we're going to need to come up with some other ideas. I've ordered 2 heart shaped chalkboards and im on the look out for an old vintage brolly to use for the pics but i need some more ideas/inspiration. Any help would be hugely appreciated Smiley smile

TIA!! xx

Half of me says get the photographer to organise it - and let them shine... and the other says take the photographer to some boutique shops in Covent garden for example

I forgot to add i let the photographer pick the place - Luss at Loch Lomond so theres plenty of lovely backgrounds. I just wanted to use interesting props or anything to add that little difference to it!

off the top of my head..

chaise lounge on the shore line or even just in the water (depends on the cost)

    Near dark picnic, with candles

boat on on the water with a floaty boho dress

    period clothing

    etc..

    Thank you for the suggestions.

I love the idea of the dark picnic with candles. We're not starting the shoot till 2 so we should be able to do that no problem near the end, it gets dark so early now!

Also the floaty dress idea, im taking a few outfit changes and i was struggling for ideas!

    Thanks again xx

I was just about to say to look at Spring's blog as she has some quirky and unusual ideas on there but you've beaten me to it.

My favourite engagement session was her Tipi theme. x
