From my experience, most of the guests will take this time to mingle & chat, have a drink anddon't need any further entertainment.

Thanks for your reassurances girls. We weren't planning on having anything but drinks either, but yesterday I was talking to someone who has been to 2 weddings already this year and both had something going on when the photos were taken and I wasn't sure if this was the "norm"!

Glad I'm not the only one! x

We too are relying on alcohol and chatting to keep the guests amused...it's only for an hour and a half max tho so I think that should be plenty!

We are having the usual drinks, and hopefully the photos won't take too long.

I was thinking about giant jenga, connect 4 etc for the kids

We have my friends all female barbershop quartet singing in the background and I'l making photo boards of us as kids, of hen weekend, stag weekend, pics of us climbing etc. Idea is to give people a talking point as most of the guests will only know a few other people there. Should give people a giggle too I hope!

We are having a swing singer singing in the background, but nothing too loud as we understand people want to chat, but they can also listen & sing along if they get bored! Obviously we are having drinks (& canapes) so I am sure people will be fine.

I have been to plenty of wedding where it was just drinks & chat and I had a great time, gives you a chance to catch up with everyone so I am sure your guests will be fine xxx

We're mainly having drinks and chatting! My sister's boyf is a magician though, and particularly good at balloon animals too (!!!) so hopefully he's going to help entertain some of our younger guests ?

Stingy hat on though now - if he wasn't free we'd not be having anything else! Like others have said, I like this part of weddings as you get to chat to different people rather than just your table people, IYSWIM?

We aren't having anything either. Just giving the guests time to mingle and chat. There is a few people staying over so they will check into their rooms at that time too.

my gay friend has booked a jazz quartet for the evening entertainment and has also booked the singer to perform with just the pianist during photos! what a great idea! not as noisy as the evening stuff and a touch of class! They're4 gonna do light musical stuff during the pics and then cool jazz and pop covers in a jazz style in the evening! i saw the quartet at a cocktail bar a couple of weeks ago and they were great so i got there card for my friend! check out there website www.lucy-ward.co.uk x

We were at a wedding on saturday and they'd arranged for us to have a champagne reception down by the big lake at the venue. There was no entertainment though, just loads to drink along with delicious canapes..
