Entrance idea...

UnionJackDream, 6 October, 2015 at 13:30 Posted on Planning 0 6

So I run a brownie unit so I wanted the girls involved in the wedding. I have had an idea but I'm a bit stumped...

we have decided we would love our niece and OH daughter to sing whilst signing the register, not sure what song yet and I would love our niece to sing At Last, while I walk down the isle but she is a bridesmaid so what do you think of this...

My brownies will walk down the isle in pairs and stop at each row of chairs, so there should be a brownies on each side down the isle if that makes sense, they will be singing I think I wanna marry you, while signing the bridesmaids and flower girls will arrive and they will line up at the front. Then my niece will sing At Last and I will come in...

is that that too complicated? Problem is I really want my niece to sing At Last and I don't know where els to include it.

Thoughts or any new ideas?

I think I'm still trying to get my head round it. Are you entering to her singing at last? Which would be lovely. Or is she singing while you sign the register. Also nice but you will miss it. The only thing is if your brownies line the aisle will that stop peoples view of you walking in while they are sitting. Sorry I have no idea what age or how tall brownies are.

ok I've retread lol. So brownies singing. If they are too tall for standing or doesn't leave you enough room for you and whoever is giving you away what about a reserved empty row for them to enter singing and sit. Then bridal party and then you enter to at last sung by niece.

yes. Lovely. Just the how crowded is aisle and view bit. Sorry took a bit of struggling with chemo brain then!

My brown owl or whatever she was! Got married while I was a brownie ( many years ago) and we all lined up outside when she exited and did our brownie salute thing. Like a guard of honour. It was lovely. I don't think we actually went in the church though, that might have been a bit much I think.

That's a nice idea too. As well as.

I think it's the cutest idea ever!

My only concerns are them restricting the view of your guests, and if they're not very good singers it could be a bit cringe inducing (I don't have kids of my own but my little sisters school plays could be very interesting to say the least!)

Aww its lovely that you want to getyour brownies involved, however I think your idea may be a bit complicated and asking each brownie to sit on her own at the end of aisle might be a bit much, as well as the possibility of 'stage fright' at having to sing in front of strangers.

I'm a member of a guide group and when some of the leaders get married we do a guard of honour. The guides sit at the back of the church and then before everyone leaves the church (and the couple walk down the aisle as a married couple) they get up and stand in the doorway outside with decorated arches for the bride & groom and all the guests to walk under (obviously the girls would hold them up higher than the pics so people can walk under them)

I have to say, I think the guard of honour idea would wok better than the entrance idea for the Brownies, if you really want to have them singing it could be the recessional. That also makes in less complicated for your niece doing As Last for the processional.

When my mum and Dad got married he was a trombonist in a brass band - as a surprise for them the band leader found out what the recessional was and worked with the organist to get the right key for the band, so the organist started the recessional, but part way through the band took over and was outside the church playing in a guard of honour formation.

Could your niece sing at last as your first dance perhaps ?

Agree with others that may be a bit complicated having brownie at end of every aisle, guard of honour sounds good
