Evening buffet

Mrs*M, 24 May, 2013 at 23:44 Posted on Planning 0 22

What is everyone having for their buffet at night? We are really struggling with this, our venue has suggested mini fish and chips or mini sausage and mash but I'm just not sure!

Would you mind sharing yours or what you would love at a wedding?

thanks

Were having pork and apple and beef cobs with a.vefatarian option. Then are adding on potato wedges and salad. It was the cheapest option and we enjoyed it at someone elses wedding we went too.

We were having a buffet with sandwiches, quiches etc etc coming in at nearly 15 pounds a person! We were also worried about waste etc and I love love love bacon butties so have decided to budget for 2 butties per person and having a sweeties buffet table and wedding cake served too...there will be roughly 1 bacon and 1 chip butty per person, obviously our couple of vegetarians will have 2 chip butties. can't go wrong with bacon and chip butties I don't think and we are saving nearly tenner per a person!

My cousin had mini fish and chips at his wedding, I didn't get any as it all went so fast!

we're having poutine for ours (chips, cheese, and gravy), and our big dessert table.

I love chips cheese and gravy! I started with it at school dinners and then when I went to Canada at 18 and found poutine I was so pleased. Everyone still thinks its weird but at least I can say its recognized in Canada

We're having a buffet. My venue doesn't do bacon sarnies otherwise I might have gone for that. I LOVE bacon sarnies.

My sis had mini fish and chips which were apparently good (I missed them as I was too busy dancing!).

We having canapes, cheese tower (with all the trimmings) and nibbles.

Personally when drinking I prefer having something I can graze on as and when rather than being presented with something at a prescribed time.

But saying that I would definitely never turn my nose up at fish and chips, bacon bap etc they good any time of day or night Smiley smile

We've got a fish and chip van, whatever of the hog roast and cheese tower is left, and a dessert table with about 5 large cakes plus a cupcake (small) per person

Thanks everyone I will look into some of those! We managed to choose the rest of our menu and canapés with ease so I've no idea why a buffet seems so hard for me to sort!

We had mini fish and chip cones and they were very popular.

We also had cheese tower and "artisan" bread as part of our picky bits later (didn't have evening guests)

We had cheese, pates, pickles etc and a port station. Went down a treat, apparently (I was too busy enjoying myself on the dance floor to eat anything!).

I actually can't remember what we had now and it was only back in 2007. We had a buffet assortment and our stack or desserts which was our wedding cake. My sister who got married recently had food served quite late and it was chunky chips and bacon or sausage baps (self serve) - It went down very well!
