Evening catering panic! :-(

JM&DM2B, 4 July, 2012 at 05:42 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi Everyone

We need to find something you unique for our wedding catering in the evening. The venue have aloud us to self cater and it has been a task trying to find something unique.

We toyed with hog roast - but we personally feel it has been over done.

We then played with the idea of pie and peas - but felt there wasn't enough of a variety

The venue are doing us a mini buffet for people to be able to nibble at but this isnt our main food.... We found a company that would cook pizza's on stone bake oven for us and do lots of other snacks. chicken wraps etc for our eve guests, we thought we had it in the bag after meeting up last week only to get an email saying they had double booked! :-(

Its so frustrating because I have been trying to contact this company on and off for months and I really liked the sound of it! :-(

We are getting married in Nottingham so would welcome any ideas for catering within the east mids... xxx

We are having a cake of cheese, with fruit, biscuits and chutneys. Mini cornish pasties, veg option of cheese and onion rolls, and then we are having scones with cream and jam. Wedding cake will also be sliced up. Wanted to keep things simple.

I went to a party last year and they had paella chefs in and it was amazing, they did 3 paellas. 1 meat, 1 seafood and one veggie plus baguettes and salad and also little cruditees. It was really well received. The company they used was based in London but they are all over.

My caterers, Food Events, do a kind of food market thing where you have little stalls with different cuisines, and also a crepe station! Not sure if they do your area, but they had lots of innovative ideas for us Smiley smile
