Were having a casino and a photo booth as well as the dj.
I wanted the photo booth and OH wanted a casino so we got a package deal, it also includes a magician (being used after the ceremony for when we are busy with pictures) and a chocolate fountain!
Its each to their own I have been to weddings with just a dj and that has been enough
Photobooth is always popular, I've been to a couple of weddings and they were a big hit.
I've also been to one where there was a casino and that was brilliant too!
I think to be honest, there's a DJ so people will dance, they will have a drinky or two (or three....) and they will be more than happy. If you have an endless budget by all means go all out and get several things, but I really wouldn't worry. No-one ever expects anything other than a bit of music and a bar.
Plus, not sure when your wedding is, but if it's a hot day, and you have an outside area, a lot of people will be outside enjoying the sunshine and having their drinks out there. Worth bearing in mind before you speand too much money on things that may not get used.
Live band for the first hour after evening guests arrive, then our Handfasting ceremony, then cutting the cake, first dance and into the disco. We've got a few other time filler bits up our sleeves too which no one knows about!
Our casino is only for 3 hours so were having it 7-10 leaving 2 hours to dance, people wont start dancing till they have had a drink or 2 so I am not to bothered about the dance floor being empty
I've got a feeling guys will go to the casino and girls head towards the dance floor, kinda gives the lads something to do whilst we can bust our moves lol xx
We have a disco booked, and are hiring a company called InEventive who provide big screens and computer games. My OH is a games programmer, and we play a lot, so it's a nod to that and a lot of fun. Costing us £249 for 3 hours, 3 tvs and games, a leaderboard and prizes
Thank you. I'll take a look. We've booked and paid for a photo booth with giggle booth, so no chance I can do a package and they don't do casino hire unfortunately. Xx
We're having a live band, and our photographer is doing 2 hours of photo booth- style photography in the evening too. Our lawn games will still be outside the marquee from the afternoon arrival reception, so if people want to step outside of the marquee they can have a play with them!
We've got a band in the evening and originally planned to have bumper cars too, but venue will only allow them during the day. Love the idea of a casino though, i've never actually seen one at a wedding before!
We're having a DJ. OH doesn't know I'm planning a surprise of gaming stations (xbox for the lads and wii for the kids). I'm getting my stepdad to be in charge to save pennies so we can take our own equipment. I've got to speak to the venue at some point alone to discuss it. I'm stopping the stations at important times though haha.
i also want fireworks but will have to see how my money is closer to the time. Casinos are great if you know people will enjoy them x
As a photobooth was out of our budget we opted to make our own and double it up as a guest book. I've got a box of props and a wooden frame and an instant camera. The aim is for guests to write messages on the back of each funny photo and peg it on our wooden frame. I've also got a dj and hoping to do a sweet table early evening so the later guests can enjoy that too. There will also be evening food.
Really hope everybody enjoys my entertainment as I'm a little worried about the timings of everything!
band are doing an acoustic set after the speeches followed by a folky violins is and guitarist who are doing a more upbeat set for an hour. Then our first dance, then hopefully fireworks which may have to go yet :-( but then the band are doing another 2 hours and djing till 1am.
Our evening food is a pasta van (our friend has one he does at festivals so it's not cost anything) and a Krispy Kreme buffet. Xx
Your evening food sounds amazing alexandra!! We'll have a DJ, photobooth and thinking of settin up some pub games in the bar area based solely on the fact that my dad has a bagatelle thingy!
