Evil bathroom scales...

teeheeyoucrazyguys!, 29 August, 2008 at 15:54 Posted on Planning 0 19

In the 7 weeks I was on my school hols I seem to have gained 6lbs according to the EVIL bathroom scales. How can this be????????????

Mum told me I looked pregnant today, aided beautifully by my new smock top but still.........!!!!!! I'm the heaviest I have ever ever ever been... and thats with the religious Wii work! Ok, I can eat a fair bit of the sweet stuff when I want to and I think i'm going to have to cut that out my diet now. Cut the fags which made me cut the booze and now I'm gonna have to cut the chocolate???

Oh whats a girl to do!? I've got my dress ordering/take measurements tomorrow and i'm already having doubts coz of the weight gain.... bah!

Are you going for a lace up back dress, in which case if you do lose weight then it might not be a big deal and your dress can just be pulled in tighter?

When is your wedding? Have you got time to wait in ordering your dress?

Hmmm, well you could look at it this way, if you order it now then it is likely it is going to have to be taken in anyway so they will just end up taking in more when you lose the weight and that way everyone is happy?

Plus it depends how much of a dramatic weight change you think is going to happen and how much of a difference you think it might make.

You can lose 6lbs in about 2-3 weeks by eating healthy and exercising.

I find I don't have very much time to eat at all once I'm working.

I have scales like that too! Maybe its the manufacturer's fault! I'm the heaviest I've ever been as well and I don't feel that my diet is as bad as it used to be. I guess I'll just have to exercise more. I didn't feel too bad when I ordered my dress cos its a lace back and it gives a really nice shape. I'll just have to keep in mind that it'll look even nicer if I'm a bit smaller!

More evil than the bathroom scales are the naughty clothes shops who are clearly re-labelling their size 12's as 18's ?

Mine change their mind they're so fickle... i step off and on again and i weigh more- how rude!!!

When you're back at work you'll lose 6lb easily, I always put wieght on over summer hols cos the kitchen's so close. No time to eat back at school so fingers crossed belly will shrink- mind you, last fitting is on tues- hmmmm

Teehee... get the dress ordered (and forget any mum awkwardness) then get it taken in when you're slimline- sorted Smiley smile

I tend to eat more when I'm at school as I have to stick to the breaks and running around after the kids makes me hungry!..... had cereal for my dinner tonight coz I didnt make enuff rice for both of us. He still insists on eating for two and wonders why hes putting on weight and i always cook enuff for one so I gave him everything and settled for cereal, lol.

I'm quite shocked that I've gained so much when i ate so little and worked on my Wii fit every morning........ docs says it cant be my tablets and I dont think its water retention.....had my thyroid checked in november and all was fine....

Maybe...you're putting on muscle? It weighs more than fat! Are your clothes looser or tighter?

At least if you're running around after the kids you're burning calories!

    Bugger... not so good!

The only thing that worked for me was weight watchers and cutting down portion size was the biggy! Depends if you're happy or if you want to loose some?

I lost 2 stone and have put on about half a stone since i stopped going (cos i've been eating utter crap!) but with 2 months to go i'll be counting points again from monday to get rid of the love handles and going back to the gym to tackle the bingo wings!

I peaked too early and couldn't resist the chocolate tempations!

Speaking of which, i'm sure there's a mily way round here somewhere to aid me in watching big brother :-)

I'm gonna try and cut out the sweeties........as thats the only thing I can think of thats bad for me. I dont have the patience for WW and all others, I would have to have a seperate kitchen for a start as OH isnt interested in going on a diet as such. (tho he should be for the sake of his health!) The amount of times ive signed up with slimming things and cancelled......

Its hard not to go back to smoking! But i wont do it! I'll keep working on my 'fat sonia' dvd, wii and the 25 min walks to the bus stop......

I think some of mine is due to alcohol intake as well. I don't have as many girl's nights out anymore so in my head I'm not drinking as much, but I suppose if I added up all the glasses of wine that we have with dinner now, and then the glass turns into a bottle..... I've also developed a liking for cider over the past year or two, especially in the summer and thats getting a lot of blame

I drink very rarely now that Ive given up smoking, I can manage about 2 glasses of red wine with a meal at friends which happens once a month... I can live without it and dont drink at home.
