Exercise, I need a swift kick up the arse!!

I am losing weight, or at least trying to. Managed 5lb in March and really want to lose 8 in April (2lb a week target isn't beyond the realms of possibility IMHO) but I think I need to up the anti on the exercise. I'm really doing it quite half heartedly at the moment, I went into the gym in a bad mood on Saturday. Did 10 mins running on the treadmill but i'd forgotten by headphones and they were upgrading the music system so I got bored and got on the cross trainer, did 10 mins and got bored and headed for the swimming pool where people kept p1ssing me off so after 20 laps I got out [:I]

Anyway, I can't do any more than 2 nights a week and a session at the weekend really - it's unrealistic to do more given MrSun's hours and having MissSun.

What can I do at the gym that will maximise by weight loss?

Someone give me a timetable - I can't afford a training session [:I]

I can't help with a timetable - but could you do maybe two half an hours with a good excersise DVD during the week? Maybe while your little girl is asleep?

It's unlikely to happen at home really. By the time she goes to sleep in the evening i've got no inclination to start doing a workout ? If she does decide to have a kip in the day it's usually my cue to do the housework ?

I am fortunate in that I have a treadmill and bike at home, but I also use the Davina DVD's which are the best out there IMHO. only half hour long and they really make you work. I find it helps if I have a timetable for the week so I can stick to it. Remember to include a bit of strength training as this is key to weight loss, the gym is probably the best place for that. 30 mins a day should be ok, rather than marathon sessions twice a week.

    HTH! ?

I don't normally like going to the gym at all but I find the workouts on www.itrain.com really help motivate me. I think they have a few free podcasts that tell you how much you should do to lose weight, but I think 3 sessions a week doing a combination of exercises should do the trick.

    HTH.

*I'm not in anyway associated with them. ?

I'll listen when I get home, don't have sound here.

    It's recommended i-tread, i-train, and i-tread & tush.

It doesn't say the frequency so do I presume I do one of each a week ie. 3 sessions a week in total.

Can you incorporate excercise into your daily life a bit more? Eg I now walk to town/library etc rather than using the car or bus, its a couple of miles up & down hills and pushing a couple of heavy children in the pushchair certainly helps burn calories ?
