Extremely chuffed. (running related)

LizBjk, 18 May, 2009 at 10:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Went for a 5k run this morning with my friend. She's only just started to run. It was pissing down with rain and very windy. We still managed to knock 5 minutes of our previous time! ?

    Well done.

Im starting running next month ( I need trainers and have no money yet!)

Looking forward to running in the rain and jumping in puddles. I have been allocated a marathon place for next year and cant wait!!

Are you running for fitness or fun or both?

Well done! I need a serious kick up the arse at the moment, I've got Abingdon marathon in October and I'm nowhere near the fitness I need to be [:'(] Fudge I'm also doing London in the spring, I'm thinking about doing the 'transatlantic' double and doing the Boston marathon the week before.....I haven't broken the news to my coach yet though ?

    Thanks both.

Fudge29, there are a few reasons why I'm running, fitness being one of them. I'm also doing the race for life in July, and a 10K cancer run in October. The first is on behalf of a little girl in my daughters class who's 4 and has cancer for the 3rd time. The second run is in memory of my beautiful auntie who sadly died last November 6 months after being diagnosed with cancer only 6 months before. Such a cruel disease.

So I get the best of both worlds really. I'm getting fit while raising money for a great charity.

Ah, best of luck to those doing the race for life this year. Have just started running myself, only 30 minutes at a time so far, but quite enjoying it. Hubby wants to keep it up post-London, and I def. need to get fit, so can't got wrong eh?
