I just heard on F1 that Scheuy has confirmed that he will be racing as a replacement for Massa. OMFG I am sooo excited!

That should be good. Glad Massa is going to be okay and looking forward to the rest of the season.?

I'd be well hacked off I was Gene or Badoer, the reserve/test drivers! Smacks of a bit of a publicity stunt for a team with an underperforming car, I'd be suprised if he did any decent results since he's not driven for 3 years, the car's not brilliant, and he's not the spring chicken he was.Raikkonnen will be sh**ting himself too!

It'll overall be good for the sport I guess, puts a positive story out there with a temporary return of a former champion, with the negativity of the Renault ban for the next race and BMW quiting at the end of the season.

I think it's really exciting news - I'm looking forward to seeing if he still has what it takes.

Although can understand what you mean MF - I bet the test drivers are a bit fed up!

I think the test drivers would have been expecting it. Badoer has been test driver since 1997 and when Schumacher broke his leg they brought a driver in from outside instead of using him. Also I think Schumacher test drove the car before the start of the season and had a lot of input - probably more than the test drivers who won't have had that much time in the current car due to the testing ban. I shouldn't think Kimi will be too happy though - he has never liked Schumacher still working with the team and closely with massa.

Should be interesting - I hope he sees plenty of the back end of a maclaren.

I see what you mean a bit MF, but probably to be expected.

On a personal level, a lot of our friends were in the Shumy haters club, so it should spice things up a bit when watching races.

Bring on the European grand prix I say! Can't wait to see Schuey back in action, yes he's only got a couple of weeks to get 'fit' but somehow I doubt that he's let himself go that much - it just doesn't seem to be in his nature.

I really hope Massa makes a full recovery and is back racing next year, and in the meantime lets see what Schuey can do and more interestingly perhaps how Jenson Button reacts to it.

Bets on whether Hamilton bricks it in excitement of racing Schuey and spins at the first corner anyone?

He'll be in shape, when H was working for Technogym last year Schumacher bought a whole kitted out home gym and the F1 test driver equipment from him.

My money says no. His reactions won't be what they were, and he'll probably shunt someone.

He had his time and very impressive it was too, but now they should give some fresh blood a chance.

I read Murray Walker's blog on this on the BBC site and he made an interesting point- Michael Schumacher's reactions when he was driving were a few milliseconds quicker than anyone else's, so even if he has "lost" anything, it won't be much and will maybe just end up making him more equal than he was a few years ago?

I think it will be interesting to see and he will definitely be out to show the critics who think he's "past it" that they're wrong. Whether he can do it or whether he'll try too hard is another question!

I do hope Massa makes a speedy and full recovery, he comes across as a nice guy and the eyesight doubts must be worrying.

I can't wait, although I always was a Schuey fan (which might not go down well with some of you here... This might be the time to say I don't like Hamilton either - sorry!). Yes, it's a bit of a publicity stunt; he's been out of it for a while and the car isn't great but I'm still hopeful that he'll put in a good performance.

I'm still hoping Jensen Button can get back on track though - I really want him to win the championship. And fingers crossed Massa's eye improves. He always seemed like such a nice guy and it would be a shame to finish his F1 career like this.
