Facebook Q re status updates and limited profile

Evil Yoda, 19 May, 2009 at 12:56 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

I have all my work colleagues on limited profile as I dont want them seeing my status updates. In my privacy setting for status updates I have it set to 'friends' with the exception of all the people on limited profile. However, a work colleague has just commented on my status. How? I wouldn't have thought that my status would show in her feed. Would she be able to see it if she clicked on my profile? Heeylp.

I thought nyone could see your status but could be wrong as I've not gone into the limited profile since it all changed

That's what I thought too. I don't know how she can see it. ☹️

I didn't think you could hide your status as if you search for anyone, you can see strangers status updates. I may be wrong though and would be interested to know how to do this too.

Has someone she/he is friends with commented on your status? That's the only thing I can think of atm. Scary, I'm always amazed at the number of people who put no security on their photos at all on FB.

No and as you say she wouldn't be able to see it anyway due to my security settings.

Since FB changed recently you can now set up different friends lists. I have therefore set up a work list and added them as 'excluded' in my security settings for status updates. They were all in limited profile anyway which I thought should have done the trick but it obviously hasn't. Hopefully this will work.
